Note that there's also the Korean Ring film, guess there must have been a rights reason for it not being included in the set. Called Ring Virus, although it's not that good.
There are four?
I didn't know there were four Japanese Ringu movies...
The Japanese are absolute geniuses when it comes to horror so I might just get this even though I don't know much about it.
I'm glad the subtitles are optional though.

Rasen and Ring 2 were released at the same time, I think. But Rasen was a big flop. I'm surprised they'd include it here.
Ring 0 is my favorite of the prequels.
Too bad Asian horror isn't as good as it was before.

Ringu Anthology
Say what you will, but I have seen the three RINGUs and both of THE RINGs and I truly believe that the movie that was done the best was the US version of THE RING.
eh, i found a DTS collection of the three jpn films, i'd probably rather pick that up than this
The story of Rasen:
Ringu and Rasen (the "original" Ringu sequel - based on the sequel novel to the Ringu novel) were produced at the same time by two different teams. Bottom line is Rasen was critical and financial failure, but the Ringu was hit.
Nakata's team (who made Ringu) did their own sequel (Ringu 2), completely ignoring Rasen. Unfortunately Ringu 2 was bloody awful as well.

There are actually a TON of Ringu movies, TV series and spin offs.
Nakata's Ringu was not the original film - it was first made into a TV series I believe.
I like the art on this one - better than the UK Tartan R2 which had a massive spoiler... oh well...

INtresting, I was hoping that RINGU 2 would come to R1, I will probaly rent that not the others, won;t bother.
Nifty! Ringu 2 is decent, and Ringu 0 is only slightly better, but they're still good films to watch. And despite hearing how terrible Rasen is, I still look forward to seeing it.
i guess dreamworks didnt wanna wait til their own ring 3 came out so they figured they'd release em all at once..lol
This is awesome. I'll def. be picking up the box set as soon as it arrives.
If you look at the price of Ringu 2, you would expect this too be pricy....
It could be good to compare these together with the remakes...
My 1100th post - gotta get off the tequila

Ringu 2
I remember there was a region 0 DVD of RINGU 2 that I saw the year before last.
Unfortunitly, it was fullscreen/Pan & scan.

Rasen
I have all 4 of these (though Rasen is on a terrible vhs copy) and love ALL of them (well, Ring 2 wasn't the best but I still liked it). Rasen is probably my favorite one. Why? Well, it goes some places to explain, scientifically, the ENTIRE thing. It is forseen that most people here who haven't seen it but HAVE seen the other three AND the American counterparts will hate it. Originally, I liked it, but I was kinda lost. I had to read the book to fully understand the story. The book was possibly the best form of Ring media ever, and the movie made a mistake by leaving out some of the more important plotpoints. Still a great movie, though. I recommend watching it, then going and finding the whole story over at Ringworld.com in the Japanese FAQ. That will help you understand the movie, which is great. If you want to know what happenes but have only seen the movie and don't feel like looking it up, my email address is MoonlightSonata13@hotmail.com.
The Ring Virus is being released in the USA by another company. I liked Ringu over The Ring. This Anthology of Terror sound up my alley. I hope it sells well so that some US company will release The Ring TV series to DVD.
i will definatly buy this
i think i will buy this because i love the american ring and the asian ring films i will buy anything that has to do with the ring
I'm glad the sequels are being released. I loved Ringu and Ringu 2 (and wow was I disappointed at the American remake) but have still yet to see Ringu 0, so I will be picking this up.
Rasen is underrated IMO.
gotta love it
love the art work, hate the fil

Ring of Terror .. lol.. Phall action.
