Quote: Captured as a young bird from the wild, Blu (Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network) is a domesticated Spix Macaw living thousands of miles away from his homeland, Brazil. When his human owner Linda (Leslie Mann, 17 Again) discovers that he is the last male of his kind, they head south to Rio de Janeiro to meet the only other female. But it’s far from love at first sight between the socially-awkward, flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel (Anne Hathaway, The Princess Diaries). Shortly after Blu’s arrival, the two rare birds are captured by greedy animal smugglers and find themselves lost in the Brazilian rainforest. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on a hilarious and clumsy adventure where they learn about friendship, love, courage and spreading one’s wings to fly.

I might pick this up. I wanted to see it but I was so curious about "Scream 4" and that might be the second time I regretted picking one movie over the other (Rob Zombie's "Halloween" was the first regret). Now, that I don't have to worry about making that same mistake again, I can finally check it out! By the way, it's good to see Fox has such a feature-packed DVD unlike the last few titles they released before.

No Blu-ray 3D? LAME. Would've been a day one blind buy purchase along with a nice $5 or $10 off coupon. I, along with KMA, was debating whether to see both movies, but in the end we saw Scream 4. I agree it wasn't a great movie, but I thought it was pretty decent and better than Scream 3. The biggest problem with Scream 4 is that the beginning and the ending are so awesome, but the middle is just very flat.
At first I wanted to see this then lost interest. Im not against a rental down the line.
I love animation, but I'm definitely not checking this one out. This looked really stupid.
I thought the film was really entertaining! The animation was great and the story was decent. I personally liked it better than Rango. It's not one of the best films of the year, but still pretty enjoyable.

When DVDActive first announced Guliver's Travels they didn't include the Blu Ray 3D in the News. I had seen a Blu Ray 3D of it on Amazon's United Kingdom site and thought that sucks why isn't it coming here, but a few weeks later Amazon had an American Blu Ray 3D version on their site. As of now there is a Rio Blu Ray 3D on their United Kingdom site so it may just come out. They are both FOX films.
Australia is getting a 3D Blu-ray version so I'd say America & UK will be as well

Yup, amazon now has it listed for release on August 30th, even though the 2-D comes out this coming Tuesday.

I would like to pick this up too when this comes out, but if you are looking for the American 3D version then go to your local Best Buy. In their ad for the week they are advertising a 3D Blu-Ray Combo pack of Rio which includes a 2D & 3D version, plus dvd and digital copy of Rio for about $30.00.
