No ******* way! I just bought this! Oh well, I like the artwork and the extras sound pretty good. Looks like I'm going to have to pick it up and sell my old one to a friend.

Good movie. Side note. Why have movie posters or dvd covers become so unorignal. I'm I the only one who likes bold and graphic posters to this ?
I like the film, but it hardly was calling out for a double dip. No thanks, I'll wait for a blu-ray version.
I hate Sony for one small thing. Before they merged with MGM, both Sony and MGM included the film's trailers on the DVD. Now neither of them do. I just don't get it.
Think about it: Someone actually had to make that decision, someone goes and implements the LACK of a trailer on the DVD every time. Why?Nobody complains when trailers ARE included but there are a lot of us who hate it when they're not so why not just do it? It's probably one of the most nonsensical things studios do that p**ses me off.

Seems to be missing the DTS track found on the region 2 special edition.
I love this film, but my desire isn't strong enough to warrant a double dip on it. I am quite happy with the dvd I own now.

No DTS = No Sale!
It's a 2 disc set for crying out loud... why no DTS??

One of my favorite John Frankenheimer films.
This movie has one of the best car chase scene...but the movie itself is average. I don't really see the point of upgrading the one I already own.

The original release from MGM didn't have DTS, but the sound was still quite good; it was good enough to rock the room on several occasions. Also, Sony only seems to do DTS with Superbit titles; however, given the huge price drop with SBs, I'm thinking they're phasing them out.
I won't be getting this one, 'cause I'm quite satisfied with what I have already.

Yes
Although I already have the R1 bare-bones version, I'll gladly upgrade this as the original was one of the very first DVDs.
I own the 2-disc R2 set. It is a ace DVD! And Ronin is a quality film.
Rubbish artwork, but what a phenomenal film. I'll have to get this.
Great car chases in this. Great film.
No need to double dip.
The R1 takes ages to get released (15 months after the UK DVD) and then loses the DTS but does get a dreadful cover art in replacement.
The UK R2 is cheap as chips too.

Can I mention that the region 2 has much better artwork,or will I get my head bitten off for making a simple statement like that?
finally I will probally upgrade my Ronin Disk when this comes out.
Great movie, but the extras seem pretty lame. Also, I agree with everyone else, it's hardly worth a double dip without DTS or the movie trailers included.
YES!! I was just talking about this movie needing a special edition a few weeks ago. Somebody was listening!.....although the artwork is absolutely hideous....good thing it's ultimately not the deciding factor in purchasing a great film!!...
Damn great film. Very underrated, but I hope that's not the final cover.
Never much cared for this the first time I saw it, but I recently picked up the first UK release (the 5:1 is fine and sounds great and who the hell needs more extras? Overkill. I couple of making of docs and a comm track are all this film needs - in fact it's all most films need)and I liked it a lot more.
Still hate the excellent Sean Bean being a total loser though! And he was the only Brit character!

Highres artwork added...
Hmmm....The Highres improves the look dramatically....I would say it's somewhere between "indecorous" and "austere"....I hope it has a nice see-through slipcover like The Usual Suspects or Rain Man!....
The Asian bootleggers must be really proud of their bootleg covers when the likes of Sony are emulating their work ;-D
If I saw that in a shop I'd have to look twice thinking it was a bootleg.

I'll wait on the HD version. Hopefully it's include that impressive DTS track.
Nice car chases. Strained story.
Bottom line: Another post-Heat De Niro stinker!
The coming 'Great Shepherd' sounds promising, though.
