Same as the Region B Bluray. Bloody ripoff.
No upgrade for me.
Love the movie, superb car chase in it. It's like John Frankenheimer was making up for not having one in French Connection 2. Probably not better than Friedkins one in FC though.

Shocking that Fox haven't re-authored this disc. Actually no, it's Fox, so not shocking at all.
Last great movie De Niro has starred in (Jean Reno hasn't done much since either) too bad the disc is gonna be lame.
I guess they figure people will buy this and then the "special edition" they put out 6 months from now, hopefully no one is that dumb.

I am royally pissed off. These damn studios are just purposely screwing their consumers over. Not a single frickin' bonus feature?! Are you kidding me??...This is one of my favorite films ever - one that was tailor-made for HD, no less! - and I'm supposed to pay an already exorbitantly bloated price (Fox is still the biggest offender when it comes to Blu-ray pricing) for a product that has less overall value than the standard DVD edition? Wha-??...Okay, sure thing Fox. Shall I bend over now or would you like me to airmail my arse to your corporate offices?....Un-frickin-believable. I'd scream "Eveyone boycott this release!" but, sadly, it wouldn't do any good since they know damn well there are enough suckers and idiots out there that they'll make out just fine. Bass turds....
Needless to say, I'll be sticking with the current special edition DVD I have...BTW, Different studio, I know, but if Leon: The Professional comes to Blu with no bonus features I may very well shun the entire format altogether...

When it comes to Blu-Ray. Fox is really lazy. We all know they can deliver a reference disc (I, Robot is a masterful BD). But most of the time their releases has been disappointed.
Universal came after them and I already think they have overcome Fox with flood of quality releases. I mean this Ronin release will be the same as its JP and other releases, not worth getting it.

Wasn't that good in the first place. Now I have another reason to pass it up.
I probably own less Fox Blu ray releases than any other studio, although I just picked up the James Bond films currently out. Of course, those really weren't put together by Fox; they just fly under Fox's flag now.
Ha, I just noticed the tag line: "Loyalty is bought, betrayal is a way of life." Pretty much sums up Fox, eh?

Well, I must admit I'm a bit of a cheapie when it comes to some releases. I bought the "Ronin" Zone B BD not too long ago, probably within the past month, off of AMUK, but I did so during a 3-for-2 sale, so it stings a little less. I already own the Region 1 CE of "Ronin" from a few years back, and generally when I upgrade from a SD to a BD, I punt off the SD to wherever takes trades, sell them, etc., but not before doing one important thing: I took all the special features off the Region 1 CE (sans commentary) and burned them onto a separate disc to keep along with the "Ronin" BD so at least I won't lose any of those goodies. And one doesn't lose anything in the process, because even if they HAD included the original CE extras on the BD, it's not like they would have upgraded the picture/sound on those.
BTW, Nevunder, I don't know if you have a BD player that will support BD's from other Zones (B,C), but you can import "Leon" from Germany in BD, and in a Steelbook, no less. It includes the theatrical cut, the director's cut (which I believe is mislabeled, as after watching it I saw NO scenes omitted from the longest, or "international" cut), and the following extras: Isolated Music Track; Fact Track; Leon - A Ten Year Retrospective; Jean Reno - The Road to Leon; Natalie Portman - Starting Young; Photogallery, and Trailer. And did I mention it includes an English 7.1 DTS-HDMA audio track? =)

Thanks for the info (I actually remember reading something about Leon coming out in another region but for some reason - probably the obvious one - I thought it was France?)...Unfortunately, my player is a PS3 so I'm outta luck with imports
