The opening scene kept the majority of the movie great I thought. It sort of sets the scene well enough to let all the oddities slide.

This is gonna be at a local theater here soon. I may have to check it out.

I'm hoping it stays consistently funny and absurd.. if it counts on the premise for all its nuance and humor I could see it getting old fast.
