Quote: Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for totally average garage band Sex Bob-omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams...literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him. Genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) tells the amazing story of one romantic slacker’s quest to power up with love in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass—and now is back in town—to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor. As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past—from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

loved this movie was upset how i bought it for a christmas gift for a relative and couldnt get myself a copy,if its not under my tree im buying it after christmas Michael Cera's Best Film Yet.
i tried to watch this after being SO excited for it and it's abysmal!! i'm so bummed out. i desperately want to like this movie but it's god awful.
Rockin' out already!
Great to see this being released so soon. Hasn`t even hit theaters over here...
Day one for me, can`t wait to see it :D

would be nice if the throw in the upcoming DLC for the game on blu ray for the game as well anyway it will be a day 1 buy for me
I loved it. Can't wait.
I liked it, but it was over-hyped, I think I'll get the Blu-Ray for Christmas and I'll probably like it a lot better. I thought Machete was better than this tho. :D
Saw this three times in the theatre (including at the Bloor, steps away from Honest Ed's and the Pizza Pizza from the movie). Defo getting this Day 1 on blu-ray.
I'd love that, the theatrical poster is so much better than that cover.
I wonder if there will be an 'exclusive' with the original theatrical poster art? A steelbook would be nice. (hint hint)
Two terribly badass cover arts.
Great, underrated movie. Loved it.
I loved this movie. It made me smile from beginning to end
The film was.....ok. I didn't quite enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I love games, I love comics and I love anime. This film played around with all of that, but there was something going on that just didn't grab me.
Maybe it was Michael Cera. I never really liked him as an actor, but that's not saying he's a bad actor either. I understand some of the popularity he has garnered and why a lot of people like him. I don't want to refute any of that or say that he sucks and you suck for liking him. All I'm saying is that he does nothing for me and his performance here is no exception.
Another issue I have here is the fact that he's killing these people. I know that this is trying to fit into a lot of style of certain games, but when you have these very human characters trying to lead a very normal life, killing and outright murdering people who pose no threat to anyone isn't my idea of a good character that I can like.

I loved this. Very fun, funny, and inventive. Will certainly be buying the Blu-ray.
Nice... a DVD release that isn't devoid of good bonus features. But then, Edgar Wright is a big fan of DVD extras.
And where was Simon Pegg and Nick Wright? They should've made a cameo appearance, it would've been a hoot.

He already did one. It was pretty awesome. Check it out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446029/

I thought Piranha 3D was the most fun movie of the year. I mean it has a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes (certified fresh) and the critics just ate it up, as well as the audience. And besides, from what I've heard it has WAYY more money shots (the full frontal nude ballet, the penis eating scene, ect.).
Was suppose to see Scott Pilgrim with a few friends and one of my friends ditched me. I guess I'll rent it.

Heard nothing but great things about this movie. I really wanted to see it in theaters but it disappeared from my local theater after 2 weeks. This is a definite blind buy for me.
Ah, 4 commentaries. I now have an excuse to watch this movie compulsively...as it is, I've gone to the theaters and seen it there thrice. And it was worth the thirty bucks and about six hours of my time.
My 2nd favorite movie of the year so far 2nd only to Kick Ass. Glad to see a Fully Loaded Blu-Ray release.
god, i can't wait to see this!!!!! the (what seems to be) similar (in tone and theme) movie KICK ASS (one of my favorite movies in years) didn't fly at the box office like this one didn't but every person i know who saw it says it's F'ing amazing! i'm pissed i didn't see it in theaters! definite buy from me!

Definately one of my favorite of the year!!!! Gotta watch it again for all of the stuff I missed! PLUS! Those who are fans of the video game they made, supposedly the DVD will have a code to play as Knives Chau in the game!!
Sam Spade wrote: Actually before this film he was starting to really bother me. His humor and acting has grown stale. He basically does the same routine over and over again. In how many films has he played the same ol wimpy, with wit and dry humor guy next door trying to get by? Too many times. At least in this film he brings it to a new level. After all this is an Edgar Wright film.
I'm sure with Cera its a matter of personal preference, but I don't like buying into the idea that typecasting is a fault. Range is certainly impressive, but I never want to see Clint Eastwood playing anything but a tough guy. I don't want to watch Jet Li in a movie where he doesn't fight. It's a character that Cera play well, and personally I don't blame him for sticking to it. After all, he is barely in his 20's. He has plenty of time to change it up.
And how about that Toshiro Mifune? Ugh. Always playing tough guys with swords. (ok this part is a joke)

Destined to become a cult classic for sure, along with Inception one of the best things to come out this year. So much fun!
Yeh i am not the biggest cera fan at all but hes actually tolerable in this. I loved moments of this film but its funny at the start i swear i wanted to walk out. It just drove me crazy, all the too hip lingo but then it comes around and gets really good. Its worth a rental for those curious.

I've never understood the dislike for the guy. I've been a fan since Arrested Development. He's been in some c**p, but nothing Youth in Revolt and Scott Pilgrim couldn't make up for.

Full of special features. will wait til Black Friday so I can get a nice discount or when it hits the used dvd store for $10, like The Runaways/Kick Ass is already priced at.
I love this movie so bad it hurts. My Thoughts
A travesty it wasn't anything but a complete blockbuster. DAMN YOU PRECONCEPTIONS ABOUT CERA!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and 4 commentary tracks!? Holy s**te that's gonna be fantastic.

Antichrist and Scott Pilgrim on the same day... quite the interesting contrast in movie purchases.
if peter travers from rolling stone liked it it must be good. he isnt the kind of critic who goes looking to get his reviews quoted. :/

Definite day one purchase for me, loving the combo pack format. It's be awesome if the font on the Blu-ray art read "COMBO" like whenever someone made a combo move in the film.
Best line - "He punched the highlights out of her hair!!"

Buying this movie immediately. Probably pausing every time Mark Webber's on screen.
Also, not liking the cover art. Still though, awesomtastic movie of amazingness.

The countdown begins.....can't wait for this one.
Awesome. First day for sure. Sucks I don't have a bluray player though. Oh well I just want to own this. Now where the hell's Inception? UK already has a release date. How about us?
Yes
Great movie. Will be getting the Blu.
