This will be a first day buy for me. Not that it was a great Scream movie. Part 2 still holds that title for.me. I am just glad there are deleted scenes. I was an extra in the movie and the one scene I was in the most, the recreation of the fountain scene in the first one, got cut out. Hopefully will be one of the deleted scenes since it was in the trailer and the marketing stills. Still, it was alright of a movie. Didn't guess the killer at all.
love the scream movies!! wes craven never disappoints me :D and 6 days before my bday!!! just in time!!!!!
The best of the sequels! I'll buy it the week it comes out. I actually enjoyed it more than Scream. Drew Barrymore's death scene is brilliant, but I like Scream 4 the best. Scream is still a great horror movie though. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Scream 2 except the first two death scenes.
Better than Scream 3 and yet Scream 4 left me disappointed

It wasn't all great as some of the humor was a bit off track, but you can't beat that ending. I thought that was pure brilliance! This is on my list to buy come October. I hope they include a feature commentary. They were done for the previous three, and that's usually my favorite special feature, anyway.

I have to agree. I LOVED the ending.
Spoiler I like that how the other films just were like, killer's dead, they pop up, and kill them again. But this one dragged it out a little bit more. The hospital scene was awesome!
And actually, I have to say, the BEGINNING, I thought was even better. I loved the way they...
Spoiler incorporated the 'Stab' films into the opening, and kept faking it out
I thought the movie was a great return to the franchise. I love the 'Scream' movies, but in comparison, 'Scream 3' was a letdown in my opinion. I didn't like the "supernatural" elements of it, when the first two felt more like it COULD happen. 'Scre4m', I thought, was entertaining throughout.

It seem the special features as lack as the previous films, but I'll still getting it.
The DVD cover is much more better than the blu-ray's floating heads!

Wes, Hayden, Emma, and Neve recorded a commentary. Hopefully it just didn't make the press release.
I'm one of those weirdos who likes all the sequels -- Scream 3 is uneven, but quite good in spots (and nowhere near as vile as its internet reputation would have you believe).

No audio commenatary by Wes......? Not like him not to do one. Hmmm...

Sit through "The Rite" and "Arthur" and then tell me this movie was the worst of the year.
Still saying it.
Wow. You really hated it THAT much? The lowest rating I can see someone giving this film, which is still pretty harsh, is a 2.5/5. There's no way it deserves like 1/5 or a 0.5/5. The acting was solid, the film kept my interest throughout, the kills were gruesome, and the script was very well-written. I agree the first two "Screams" were a lot better, but this one was a nifty, little sequel that improved on what went wrong with "Scream 3". Now "The Rite" and "Arthur", those were just AWFUL. My god, I was so bored I wanted to kill myself. At least "Scream 4" kept my interest.
I found the writing to be atrocious. Ever watch a "Friday the 13th" sequel and say to yourself how stupid those kids act. Well those dumb kids are geniuses compared to the returning cast of characters. Those kids usually one get one chance to be placed in that type of situation. But to be placed in that situation four times and you still haven't learned anything....it boggles the mind. I'm not a stickler for realism or anything, but why aren't Gail and Sidney showed handling and packing firearms? Or even show them taking self-defense classes. Just something to let the audience know that these characters are able to survive with some intelligence and not just sheer luck. Not to mention, that was the worst motive for a serial killer yet. "SCREAM 3" can breathe a sigh of relief, now that it is no longer the 'black sheep' of the family.

that's funny how the BR got the c**ppy cover! LOL. finally the BR'ers get screwed over (regarding a cover) instead of it being the other way around.
Why did they not use the DVD cover for the Blu-ray as well???

Like the simplicity of the DVD cover, don't mind the floating heads blu-ray cover... just a shame the film is such complete and utter s**te. 1, 2 and 3 are all far superior! Said it before and will say it again, Scream 3 gets some seriously unfair press, yet has one of the best scenes of the entire franchise (Sidney being chased through the Woodsborough set).

Hate the cover art, but loved the movie! Glad it's finally been announced, even though we have to wait another 3 months for it (and we've been waiting 3 months just to hear an announcement!)
Not as good as the first two, but much better than the third. I did have some issues with some of the dialogue (the terrible Bruce Willis line, anyone?) and pacing, but all-in-all, not a terrible effort. It felt like a nice little feature-length epilogue to a story already told. The final act was impressive and I had the most obnoxious grin on my face when the killer(s) was/were revealed.
My favorite character: Kirby Reed. I'm not a Hayden Panettiere fan, but she brought some much-needed gusto to her role.
I'm hoping the cover is merely a placeholder and something better comes along. It's quite sad when fans produce better material than those who are EMPLOYED to do so. Have you guys seen TheMadButchers work? Phenomenal.

I am willing to bet MONEY that won't be the final cover art. It doesn't look "complete" yet, and the advertisement artwork changes sometimes. I mean they will at least put them together and not spaced apart. Personally, although the Ghostface/Knife poster was cool it never felt like a "complete" poster for the movie. It was just the image, no credits, no actors, nothing. I loved the throwback poster with the "4" and Neve's face inside. I wanted that to be the cover art, but I am POSITIVE it will change. It's just a rough idea of what the image will look like. Don't give up and just say it looks bad and call an end to it so soon. LOL
"..shame it didn't crack 100 million"..
This movie stunk so bad it didn't do $100Mil (Worldwide).. terrible rehash of the original movie.. guess 'Scream 5' doesn't happen now (as originally planned).

Huh, trying to stick with the previous films' cover art? I don't understand why people love the Scream movies so much. They ALL weren't scary. Just gorey. Yet, people still watch them and spend their money. Thank God I didn't watch this one. All my friends and the critics said it sucked. Figures.
Well it makes perfect sense releasing it in October. It is in fact a Horror film isn't it? Conjuncts with Halloween a few weeks later. It will also generate more sales, the studio knows what their doing. And their using this strategic move to release it on October. Since the film didn't do as expected in theaters it needs to make up for its home video release.
why is everybody so concerned about the cover art??....isnt whats on the disc more important??

It is a rehash in some parts because it's completely intentional. Spoiler For an example, at the end of the movie where Emma Roberts and Rory Culkin kept stabbing each other/hurting each other. They even said in the scene it was a homage to the original. . But please please do not mention "Hangover II" when talking about "Scream 4". That's like saying oh, both "Epic Movie" and "JFK" had a storyline.

I completely agree. This wasn't bad, but nothing special. I'm still going to buy it for my collection though.
I like that the "BD/DVD/Digital Copy" trend is getting more popular, but I hope the extras aren't sacrificed. With Warner Bros. the extras are almost ALWAYS the last thought with these combo packs.
Yeh Warner has been sucking wind with several titles lately(due date, unknown, hall pass, to name a few) they need to step it up, some people actually care about special features and it could even reduce BD sales if they keep doing this. I hope digital downloads dont overtake this

Neve Campbell doing her best 'Blue Steel', lol.
I thought it was better than the third but not as great as the first two. Still loved it though. Saw it twice. Am disappointed it wasn't a bigger hit. At least it's doing 100 Million WW. I still hope for an eventual fifth film.

I wanna see this film. It has a decent RT reception and a good IMDb score. Plus, I'm interested in its meta story and hopefully its creativeness.

Interesting that they're crediting Neve first instead of going alphabetical like they have with the other three films in the past.
Why does everyone have a problem with the artwork? I knew it would be this and I love it. The other three movies are exactly the same. At least they're sticking with the format. Day one for me.
The DVD art probably looks better but he floating heads isn't THAT bad. At least Neve looks good as always. I think it's just an ideA of what it'll look like it will get better the DVD art doesnt look like the bluray DVD combo thing
Oct 4 that is an unusually long time to release the DVD when it came out in April

I enjoyed this, shame to see it didn't crack 100 million as I thought it was the second best in the series. As said before they really did mess with this movie with a few re-shoots and tweaks that probably weren't needed at all. I was hoping they would use that poster for the cover (with ghost face fading to the knife) but the terrible photo-shopping of the floating heads really kills it, even worse then past "floating head" posters. I wonder what the DVD looks like?
Seems the Netherlands are getting this:

This was an okay movie but this was a big regret for me because "Rio" opened on the same weekend as this and I wanted to check that out but my nostalgic inner child just had to say, "See this!". I don't think I want to go that same situation again.
Pathetic disgrace.....and that's just Hayden Panittiere's hair style. The movie was even worse than that.
This will be a first day buy for me. I really LOVE the Scream series, and like the review in the ad says, it is the best one since the original. It is also the best horror movie of the year so far.
october? daaaamn!!
i get it, its a horror movie so that month makes sense but these days movies rarely take 6 months to hit home video. i totally expected a late august release, early september at worse.
i personally liked it a lot so i will definately add it to my collection but i guess the whole different studios owning the series thing has really killed any chance for a box set. i seriously dont understand how Lionsgate has the rights for the first 3 while Anchor Bay got this one. all 4 were Dimension movies so how the hell did that happen? and who would split up the rights to a franchise produced by the same company to different studios? you'd think whoever got the original trilogy rights would automatically get the 4th...weeird.
anyway, yeah the cover looks "meh" as the kiddies say. i like that they stuck to the style of the previous 3 but the actors definately looked forced in there by lame photoshop or something compared to the other movies.

I was disappointed with Scream 4. I saw the first three in the theaters and loved them (even parts of #3). Unfortunately, Scream 4 lacked the same thrill/fun/quality that the first three... er... two had. Like Phil92, I blame the studio this time. Having read the original synopsis from Kevin Williamson, I wish they would have left it alone. Oh well... I'll stick with the original trilogy boxset and pretend I never saw 4.

I didn't think it was the best in the series, but I do think it'd be my second favorite. I don't know if that's me just loving the movie, or me just being nostalgic and being excited for it. But I enjoyed it a lot.
I loved it. Will purchase for sure. Nice to see a Blu-ray/DVD combo.
I liked it a lot, but yeesh, that artwork.
Didn't understand the praise for all this. I thought it was seriously weak, but I blame the studio as I hear they tampered alot with it.
Scream 4 is definitely the best horror of the year! And best horror sequel of the decade as well!
But honestly, though the movie is good, but the artworks are damn ugly, I can say that the fan made done even better!
This cover art is just as c**p as its theatrical poster.

Can't say I love the cover art... The photoshop group at the bottom looks like c**p. But glad to see BD-DVD-Dig combo pack. I think it's ridiculous that they're not releasing this until October... UK gets it in August if I'm not msistaken.
