Title: Scrooged (IMDb)
Starring: Bill Murray

Paramount Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for the 'Yule Love It!' edition of the Richard Donner directed Scrooged which stars Bill Murray, Carol Kane, Alfre Woodard, Karen Allen and John Forsythe. I'm afraid Paramount has yet to officially announce this one, so we are unable to reveal the disc specs at this time. However we can confirm that it will be available to own from the 31st October. Thank's for answering. Well it's evident that it never came out, so maybe we'll get it this year... Hopefully.
Mel, it looks like Paramount has delayed this release with no new street date announced. If it's not announced early in November by the studio than forget about it coming out sometime in December in time for the Christmas holiday (like Dec. 19th or so). Not sure why the studio pulled this from their release schedule.
Was this pulled?
Because I can't find it being released anywhere tommorow. Otherwise, I just can't find it listed anywhere at all for anytime.

Not a bad movie but by cripes they gotta get rid of that banner...

What, the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Starman" Karen Allen?yes that Karen Allen and don't forget she was in "Anamal House" also.
I wonder where she is now. She was great as Marion Ravenwood.

DERP DE DERP DE DURPITY DURP DE DURP!!!
Rob Schneider stars in: "The Witty Paramount Exec", Coming this summer....Rated PG-13...
Haha, all South Park jokes aside, this was definitely a funny movie and a precursor (in terms of content anyway) to one of my favorite holiday favorites, Bad Santa. I'll pick this one up.

The crooked banner is to do with the fact that whoever is responsible for cutting Paramount's sleeves, couldn't cut a straight line, if it was to save their life. Maybe it's those stupid curved corners they favor. Oh hell, who cares...
Karen Allen?

I bought the prevous DVD last year for $10 at Best Buy will double dip on this(it will be Anamorpic right? the prevous DVD was not).
Scrooged, Christmas Vacation, Elf, A Christmas Story, and Its a Wonderful Life are my favorite holiday movies (no, not in that order). I abso-friggin-lutely cant wait for this one!
A Christmas Carol has been told in movies countless times, and in varying degrees of quality. And while some might call it blasphemous to purists of Dickens' classic, I really have to say this is one of the most fun tellings of the story I have ever seen.
Not only that, but Bill Murray's "transformation" at the end as he realizes the "true" meaning of Christmas, is one of the most convincing and hartfelt that has ever been done IMO. There is such joy and relief in his voice as he espouses the merits of being good to your fellow man. He is totally convincing as a man redeemed. Love, love love this movie! Plus it's damn funny to boot.
Really eager to see what the features are going to be, but being a 1-disc affair, I'm not holding out hope for more than a few featurettes and (I hope) some deleted scenes. Dare I dream...Donner and/or Murray commentary?

Fun movie, I'll enjoy watching it again.
Yule Hate the edition name, but Yule definitely buy the movie.... at least I will... I love this movie.
The best part of this movie is the "The Night the Reindeer Died" movie commercial.
Depends on the features for me, since I've got the original DVD...
Surely we'll get a commentary from Donner? Deleated scenes? If so, it's double dip time for me.
ha! I almost bought the current edition.glad I didnt.
So glad I didn't buy the current edition. Now I can add this to my collection. One of Murrays' better movies.
Nice it is Paramount perhaps we can get it on HD DVD too.
If they were going to reference the movie, I think the "Yule Love It" title should be a little less...festive, and more "corny", if you know what I mean.
The crookedness of the banner looks like an optical illusion created by the angle.
I liked this movie. Thought it was pretty inventive and cool. I like the 'Yule Love It Edition' part of it, too. It fits just fine.

Finally, this gets an SE treatment, but I hate all those stupid titles Paramount keeps using, I'm still waiting for the "Double Dumb-Ass Edition" or Star Trek IV. And am I the only one who notices that the banner at the top is not exactly even, it's at a bit of an angle. Anyways, since I don't own the current DVD, I will probably pick this one up. It's both a Christmas classic and up there with Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day as one of Bill Murray's best.
This is a great holiday Murray flick but the dvd I own will do just fine.
Other that the Yule Love it issue ( not really an issue it's just a edition title) This movie shows Bill Murray at his best. The story has been told a gazillion times. It sells, and Bill Murray and it's hilliarious cast made it modern for that era. Funny, classic a must buy if you love this former SNLstar's work.

SorkinFan, kudos for beating me to the punch.
Erm...snap! :-)
Gentlemen, if you've seen this movie as much as I have, then you'll remember that "YULE LOVE IT" was the slogan of the fictional IBC network, run by Bill Murray's character.
If you don't believe me, watch the first 15 minutes of the film and look at the "commercial" for "The Night The Reindeer Died" and the two versions of the "Scrooge" commercial the IBC board watch.

But "YULE LOVE IT" is at least ironic - it's the deliberately 'awful' slogan used in the movie by the (fictional) TV network.
This is the same network who are advertising 'Scrooge' as containing 'drug addiction, freeway killers and acid rain' and have a Lee Majors TV movie about terrorists at Santa's grotto called 'The Night The Reindeer Died'.
So it does at least prove that someone on the design team has seen the film - not always the case...
(Still my favourite Christmas movie this. It has a tone, not unlike Ghostbustes, that's rare in mainstream fare these days. Murray's great, it's got some cool industry digs, inventive direction and scripting... I'm just hoping the DVD's packed with deleted scenes and gets released in the UK!)

Agreed Nick. I hate all of those names, but I have to say I think that "YULE LOVE IT" is probably the worst one I've ever heard.
I really hate Paramount using the "clever" edition titles. Because it's called the "Yule Love It" Edition isn't gonna make it sell more copies than just calling it the "Special Collector's Edition." Whatever the case, I'll consider this as a buy if the features are juicy enough.

I saw this at a Test screening years ago! I think around Summer of 1988. There was lots of stuff missing by the time I saw it again months later.
