Queen Latifah's character is the dumbest, most laughable character in all of cinedom -- and I came to that conclusion just by watching only ten minutes of this awful movie on TNT one lonely night in December.

I heard about a straight-to-DVD sequel a few years back and I figured that they would release a special edition of the first movie at the same time. I guess the plans for the sequel were put on hiatus.
It's awesome that New Line's putting out all these Extended Cuts! I'm not as big of a fan of this one as I am Menace or Friday, but I'll definitely be checking this one out as well.
Never heard of this.
I was just looking through my collection and I said to myself, "Self, I wish I had Set it Off on Blu-Ray." Or maybe I didn't. I can't remember.

You know the news of Warner Bros. releasing this, Friday & Menace II Society, all on the same day and date, doesn't surprise me. Warner does the whole multiple-releases-on-the-same-day thing every few years. They did it in '05 with the 50th anniversary of their television division, they did it the same year with the Batman releases and they did it in '06 with the Superman releases. I wonder what they got in store for 2010 or 2011.
AWWW, I liked this movie. It was so sad but what's even worse is the fact the video for En Vogue's "Don't Let Go" wasn't included. Jerks. :file:
I love this movie - I thought it was really well done and very enjoyable.
A buy.
From what I remember this was a good film, in the 90s it was quite refreshing to see an all female cast act against stereo type 'eye candy' and be criminals.
Very good movie. One of Queen Latifah's first movies that didn't involve rap music.
