I was fortunate enough to test this program while working for CBS. Ratings went through the roof! I've only watched the very first episode of the original UK version and that was after watching the US version. It is practically a carbon copy just without the cockney slang and the setting moved to New York.
I am really hoping this sticks around for a while and it should seeing how Showtime renewed it for at least two more seasons!
And yes, Emmy Rossum is a total cutie!

on that note, where the hell is season 1 of boardwalk empire?
Caught the last two episodes of this show because my dad was watching it and really liked it. I pre-ordered this just days ago. Good to have a confirmed release date on such a great show.
Also, for all the people that are into this, I recommend "Look," another series on Showtime. That show is truly a masterpiece.

Really fantastic show. Excellent performances from all involved (William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum stand out, in particular) and a spot-on look at how even the most dysfunctional, oddball family can come together under dim circumstances. And when I say dysfunctional, I mean it to the FULLEST extent.
Also, yes, I realize it's a remake of a UK show, which I have also seen. Both are great in different ways. May have to pick this up.
