Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (US - DVD R1 | BD)
Warner has revealed the official details on the latest Robert Downey Jr movie
Title: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (IMDb)
Starring: Robert Downey, Jr
Released: 12th June 2012
SRP: $28.98
Further Details:
Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($35.99) releases of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows for June 12th. The only extra material on the DVD release will be 3 featurettes ("Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson: A Perfect Chemistry", "Moriarty's Master Plan Unleashed", "Holmesavision on Steroids"). The Blu-ray/DVD Combo release will include those features, an UltraViolet digital copy of the film, plus the following additional features ("Maximum Movie Mode: Inside the Mind of Sherlock Holmes hosted by Robert Downey Jr", "Holmes Without Borders", "Sherlock Holmes: Under the Gypsy", "Meet Mycroft Holmes", "Guy Ritchie's Well-Oiled Machine"). We've attached the package artwork for each below:

Quote: Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room…until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large—Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris)—and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may give him an advantage over the renowned detective.
Around the globe, headlines break the news: a scandal takes down an Indian cotton tycoon; a Chinese opium trader dies of an apparent overdose; bombings in Strasbourg and Vienna; the death of an American steel magnate… No one sees the connective thread between these seemingly random events—no one, that is, except the great Sherlock Holmes, who has discerned a deliberate web of death and destruction. At its center sits a singularly sinister spider: Moriarty.
Holmes' investigation into Moriarty's plot becomes more dangerous as it leads him and Watson out of London to France, Germany and finally Switzerland. But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead, and moving perilously close to completing his ominous plan. If he succeeds, it will not only bring him immense wealth and power but alter the course of history.

I had mixed feelings about the first movie, but I thought the trailers for this one looked so much better. I'll definitely be checking this out!

really liked this movie, jared harris was an excellent addition, and the ending was brilliant. first day pick-up for me, not thrilled over the ultraviolet digital copy though...
i'm looking forward to seeing this! i love Noomi Rapace, so i can't wait to see her in this (and upcoming PROMETHEUS!)!
Been waiting to hear about this; quite excited.
Two words. 'Urban Camouflage'.
Such a letdown and I was a fan of the first. The first hour or so is undoubtedly solid, but it loses steam half-way through and bogs down its potential. 5/10
I think the first is better than this sequel. I think the DVD art is better than the Blu-ray art even though I will be getting the combo
Finally about damn time here!!!! This was good, not great but enjoyable. Can't wait!!!
I enjoyed this one more than the first. Actually I never even saw the first until the blu-ray was dirt cheap on Boxing Day and I never ended up watching it until much later.
I'm all for a third.

Absolutely. Maybe WB is wising up about the constant Photoshop c**p jobs they did for their previous franchise releases...

Its funny at first i didnt like the first film and thought surely this would be much better. I saw this and didnt care for it. So then i see the first film a second time and really liked it. Also this is a longer than usual wait these days.
Funny how this move came out in the Winter but the DVD release is in the summer but with Netflix you might be waiting until Fall to get a chance to rent it.

thats exactly what i was thinking, i even commented on the wait on the post above urs. Its unusualy these days to wait more than 4 months really. I remember the book of eli came out in January 2010 and wasnt out till that june, similar last year with true grit. Netflix has been getting new releases right away lately, not all titles but still a lot.

Redbox will probably have it for rent around the same time around the sale date (since they decided to get product elsewhere to make it available for rent instead of waiting for Warner's rental window imposed to effect Redbox and Netflix).

I still think this is a long wait as usual. I would be fine with the movie getting released in May, but it would be a lot worse if it got a release in July/August. 6 months is usually better than nothing. 7 months = okay, could be worse. 8 months = stupid.
Finally! Wow, what a movie this was. People can say what they want about this film, but I thought it was spectacular! Robert Downey Jr. is definitely one of the best, and hottest, actors out there in the game right now. A Game of Shadows was just great entertainment all the way through. You have surprises here and there that keep you at the edge of your seat. I liked the first one as well, but this tops it by a mile. Definitely on my top 10 films of 2011. Cannot wait until it's released, buyingit on blu-ray combo!
