Long day
Fixed!
Long day
This complete set looks like a good purchase. I didn't see the 4th one. I didn't care for the 3rd one. I hope the price is cheap enough to justify the complete set. Good art though.
The fourth one is a huge step forward from the third one, which I thought was atrocious compared to the first two. However, it isn't really worth a purchase. It's definitely worth seeing, just to see "the final chapter" of the Shrek series (though I wouldn't doubt another sequel in a few years, or even some sort of reboot).
That box set is tempting, but movies 3 and 4 aren't the 3D versions... right?
Basically to me all of them sucked other than the first one. The 3rd takes a lot of heat but its as good(or bad) as the 4th one. I just dont think they ever quite recaptured the charm and wit of the original one. Oh well
Finally! About damn time here. Is the box set going to have only the fourth one as a Combo Pack? I'd rather hope for a Combo Pack box set of all movies. Or is the box set going to have just the blu-ray discs and will not include the dvds? Basically, I own all of them on DVD trying to complete my Shrek collection and the third one really sucked. The fourth film improved the series only a little more. Surprised that it's the final chapter. Still it's worth a buy like all the other Shrek movies, but I don't think it's worth a Blu-Ray buy. Unless if I were to buy the first two films separately - that would be great. I'd rather just finish the series off with the DVD.
Didn't like 3 or 4. So No.
I liked the first one, I loved the second one, and the third was okay, but not bad. And, hearing that the fourth one is better than the third means it should be at least somewhere between one and two. Since I have none of them at all, I'll be getting the blu box set. Can't wait.

my guess is that they'll make two complete collection sets, one for the blu-ray as we see here and a seperate dvd version. i guess this could be the first combo pack box set but all the other collections that have come or are coming soon are getting seperate releases for each format.
but anyway its great to see this, before scrolling i was all ready to post and ask if anyone knew about a box set. so i was pleasantly surprised to see the image as i did scroll. they even included the xmas special so thats a nice surprise. i've never seen Part 4 and i'm honestly not even sure if i saw Part 3, pretty sure i did but dont recall. lol
but i enjoyed the first two and CGI animated movies always look amazing on blu so its worth a purchase. i only own Part 1 on dvd so i wont feel like i'm double dipping a lot.

has that ever happened??? has there ever been an animation "reboot?" i'm not poking fun...it just sounds so far fetched. i dunno why...but it does. i cannot think of of an animated movie where the sequels didn't live up to the hype and would constitute a reboot. excluding straight to video sequels.

This is a movie?????

When Shrek 2 was successful, DreamWorks announced two more sequels (which became Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After) and a Puss in Boots spinoff.

Happy for Pixarfan517, like most sequels these have gotten progressively worse.
Yes and they take a long time for them to get announce, assuming how many people may want it, not saying that the whole world does.
OH MY GOSH! The DVD cover looks gorgeous! It's so christmasly looking. I want that whole collection.
Quick question, with the Shrek quadrilogy on BD, can you buy the first two individually? I disliked Shrek 3 and I'm considering renting Shrek 4 but the first two would rock on Blu Ray!
Chrisman25, you would actually have to wait a while, hopefully in less than a year for the first two to get separate release dates. I'm glad you brought that up. I'm actually going to get the fourth film in the combo pack and owning only the first two again on Blu-Ray. I hated Shrek 3.
I really liked this movie a lot. Sure, it's not as witty as the first two, but the film makes that up with the strong story, which is surprisingly dark and depressing. I really felt like crying in parts of this film because of how emotional it was. 8/10
Didn't see this one, but just might pick up the boxed set.
Thank God this mediocre kiddy franchise is over. I remember when the first one was the s**t and I was the one who hated it.

I actually thought Shrek 3 was s**t. But I am actually happy that the series is over. But unfortunately, they're making a Puss In Boots movie next year and hopefully that is it.

I might blind buy considering the fact that Shrek Forever After is going to be featured in a 3D Samsung starter kit and I'm in desperate need of more 3D glasses and more 3D movies.
I hate that "final chapter" banner on the artwork of Forever After, but otherwise this set looks fairly nice.
My guess is for those who wondered about the first two getting separate releases, that Dreamworks will release the first two in separate blu-ray releases when the Puss in Boots movie is going to come out. Still, I will be one of those that will be waiting and just getting the fourth film in a combo pack. Have no desire to watch Shrek 3 in HD.
sweet definitely gonna get this
