Paramount and DreamWorks have announced Shrek The Third which features the voices of Mike Meyers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz. The disc will be available to own from the 13th November. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include a commentary (participants to be confirmed), three additional scenes (The Fauxly Grail, Hot Lunch, and Cyrano de Artie), Shrek's Guide to Parenthood, a Tech of Shrek 3 featurette, two music videos (Donkey Dance, and Dancing Babies), a Princess Bootcamp feature, and some Big Green Goofs. Completing the package will be a Worcestershire Academy Yearbook, four additional features (Merlin's Magic Crystal Ball, Get Up and Play PSA, Learn the Donkey Dance, and How to be Green), DVD-ROM features (Shrek Shmash Ups, Royal Tournament Games, Printables, and Weblinks), and trailers.

Definetly the worst of the Shrek series but the animation makes up for it. There should be an HDDVD and Bluray version as well.
Shrek and Shrek 2 are great but this was such a let down, the script is so poor and crucially for the most part it's just not funny. I must've laughed about 3 times maximum, I think 1 of them was more of a smirk. The baby stuff is funny but otherwise poor, poor, poor.
It's been particularly bad this year for Hollywood blockbusters, rubbish sequel after rubbish sequel. Die Hard 4 was pretty good but come on it's not in the same league as Die Hard (or Die Hard 2).
The less said about Pirates of the Caribbean 3 the better (which was never particularly good to start with). I did thoroughly enjoy Transformers though, that was a nice surprise and unsurprisingly the only (pretty much) new idea this year.
Bourne Ultimatum hasn't opened here yet and it's definitely looking like it will be the only seriously good film this year.

Shrek the Third should have been called "Shrek the Awful" - This movie just plain sucked. It wasn't funny and the story was really weak.

Very disappointing
A considerable cut below the two first ones. Very, very dissapointing... but, fortunately, it's also a considerable cut above the flock of unimaginative farting animals-themed CGI flicks Hollywood barfs on us each year.
THANKS for the warning on this one. I would have done a blind buy, but maybe I should rent this one first.
"Shrek" was good, "Shrek 2" was just ok, and i never saw "Shrek the Third", i will at some point. I wont pick it up or anything.

While easily the weakest of the three, this was by no means a bad movie. It just really fails in compariosn to the first two because this one was more average not as well written. It's still better than many of those nickelodeon animated pictures, and some of the other animated stuff dreamworks has done. The animation took another step up and it had some really funny moments, but otherwise I found the film to just be pleasant.

FINALLY!!! I love Shrek. "Shrek the Third" was great, but not as great as the first two movies were.

Why the hate for this movie? Though not as good as the 2nd, which is my favorite of the franchise, it was better than the first.
It was the best "threequel" for the month of May, that's for sure. Will definitely buy this before the utter disappointments of Pirates and Spidey 3.

Not as good as the first two, but still enjoyable. Andrew Adamson's absence as director is notable. I just think they overused the popular music in it. Harry Gregson-Williams' score was drowned out by all the songs

So disappointing - I loved the first two, but this one just wasn't funny at all. I think it's down to the feeble script: recycled jokes, unfunny characters... seen it all before. Serious rewrites were needed. Such a shame. And Harry Gregson-Williams' score, when it could be heard, was seriously disappointing, considering his fine work in the first two.
