Hey... my video store got the movie in yesterday. They get DVDs a week or two before their release date, and suprisingly, they got this movie in yesterday. They usually get their DVDs on Thursday, but that was quite a surprise for them to get in this movie. I love Shrek. Best animated film not made by Pixar. Can't wait to get "Spider-Man 3," "Ratatouille," "Pirates 3," "Harry Potter 5" and The Jason Bourne trilogy.
An okay film, not as good as the first two. If they had put a little bit more humor and fun into it, I would probably buy it the first day.
SHREK - A great family film. The best animated film not made by Pixar.
SHREK 2 - A rare part two sequel that outmatches its predecessor. Sequels are okay. Depends on the movie. They can have weird plots, too many characters and situations. And "Shrek 2" managed to avoid all of that.
SHREK THE THIRD - Now, this one faces a bit of sequel problems. Story was decent. Easy to follow. Characters were good. Humor was okay. Music was excellent. But the jokes were awful.

This was lousy. I love the first two, but this was just awful.
Very disappointing. To be fair, there were a few laughs but it lacked any of the wit, intelligence, and most of the humour that the previous two had.
When'll Ratatouille be available for purchase on DVD?
This was not the "best Shrek yet". I love it how studios buy off critics.
I love the red, and the babies on the cover are adorable. Haven't seen any of the Shrek movies but me and my fiancee' will probably get this as he has part 1 on DVD.

Definitely not Bridge to Terabithia c**p
OK movie. No blu-ray?

It was still better than most of the animated c**p that comes out, it just didn't come close to the reputation the first 2 movies built up.
Ratatouille on the other hand..I cannot wait to own on dvd to watch whenever I please. I love it.

Ehh, not really. It's ok. Did you think the first two movies were better?

Honestly, I thought it was pretty good.

I actually thought the story wasn't that bad, but yeah, it wasn't too funny. A few funny lines but no good jokes.

Regular artwork, nothing out of the ordinary, like the movies...

yeah that. Might be getting it when it goes cheap

Stop ragging on the movie, it was what it was - cute. Shrek stopped being "smart" after the first one. It's simply a kids movie with nods to the adults. Though adding Justin Timberlake was an AWFUL idea.....he can not act or even voice act.
The cover is atrocious and why has Paramount decided to stop releasing 2 discs after the first one!

I have a feeling Paramount will pull its DVD first, hi-def couple of months later thing with this. Unless they want to release the hi-def versions same day but announce them later on for some odd reason.
why 2 babies on the cover??
They should just stop making shrek alltogether.
I actually liked Shrek the Third...it was good. I also liked the first Shrek as for Shrek 2 that was just ok for me.

What horrible cover art. And it wasn't bad, just not as good as the first 2.
Great artwork, cannot wait.
I'm not a big fan of that cover, especially the over large banner at the top. However, it's not the worst I've seen. They should have just used the group poster with Shrek in the royal outfit...Oh Well.

Thank you Mr. Obvious ;-D

The problem with this franchise is that Paramount bought Dreamworks for around $1.2 billion, which happened, if memory serves, in 2005, right after Spielberg was done with his remake of "War of the Worlds".
Shrek was liked by many because he despised other children-oriented movies and was able to redirect the shot by going somewhere else while still entertaining the little ones as well as the adults. "Shrek 3" just doesn't follow that same order of idea since he became a slave to the very messages he criticized in the first 2 movies, thus leading to a less than acceptable festival of clichés and adding little to no new characters.
After I heard about the prequel that will launch in 2010, I lost completely all hope over this series.

Is that Shrek the Christmas Special?! Awful Cover. Makes me want to rip it just so I don't have to have that awful artwork on my shelf.
Never saw this one, but heard it was bad. Artwork isn't too terrible; haven't seen a wraparound thing like that in a while.

And as for that, thats not really a new idea, its based on toys and a TV show and a comic book. It was one of the best films this year, though. Order of the Phoenix still remains the best.

Cool cover art but far from the best Shrek yet.
HORRIBLE COVER! too much red
I like the artwork.
Artwork added...
So disappointing - I loved the first two, but this one just wasn't funny at all. I think it's down to the feeble script: recycled jokes, unfunny characters... seen it all before. Serious rewrites were needed. Such a shame. And Harry Gregson-Williams' score, when it could be heard, was seriously disappointing, considering his fine work in the first two.

You do pay 100 bucks for a movie in any good cinema, here in India.....and it surely doesn't suck!

Not as good as the first two, but still enjoyable. Andrew Adamson's absence as director is notable. I just think they overused the popular music in it. Harry Gregson-Williams' score was drowned out by all the songs
Why the hate for this movie? Though not as good as the 2nd, which is my favorite of the franchise, it was better than the first.
It was the best "threequel" for the month of May, that's for sure. Will definitely buy this before the utter disappointments of Pirates and Spidey 3.

This on was just annoying.

This Shrek is utter dreck!
I can't believe how progressively worse the series has gotten since the original.

"Shrek the Turd". Not as good as the first 2. I couldn't stand Eric Idle as the wizard. Stupid arse.
FINALLY!!! I love Shrek. "Shrek the Third" was great, but not as great as the first two movies were.
very disappointed. it wasn't funny, clever or entertaining.
While easily the weakest of the three, this was by no means a bad movie. It just really fails in compariosn to the first two because this one was more average not as well written. It's still better than many of those nickelodeon animated pictures, and some of the other animated stuff dreamworks has done. The animation took another step up and it had some really funny moments, but otherwise I found the film to just be pleasant.
SHREK the TURD? LOL
"Shrek" was good, "Shrek 2" was just ok, and i never saw "Shrek the Third", i will at some point. I wont pick it up or anything.
THANKS for the warning on this one. I would have done a blind buy, but maybe I should rent this one first.
A considerable cut below the two first ones. Very, very dissapointing... but, fortunately, it's also a considerable cut above the flock of unimaginative farting animals-themed CGI flicks Hollywood barfs on us each year.
Very disappointing
Is it 2 disc or single disc?
This movie sucked....I want my 100 bucks back
Shrek the Third should have been called "Shrek the Awful" - This movie just plain sucked. It wasn't funny and the story was really weak.
The first two were only funny the first time you watched them, while this one weren't funny at all
Shrek and Shrek 2 are great but this was such a let down, the script is so poor and crucially for the most part it's just not funny. I must've laughed about 3 times maximum, I think 1 of them was more of a smirk. The baby stuff is funny but otherwise poor, poor, poor.
It's been particularly bad this year for Hollywood blockbusters, rubbish sequel after rubbish sequel. Die Hard 4 was pretty good but come on it's not in the same league as Die Hard (or Die Hard 2).
The less said about Pirates of the Caribbean 3 the better (which was never particularly good to start with). I did thoroughly enjoy Transformers though, that was a nice surprise and unsurprisingly the only (pretty much) new idea this year.
Bourne Ultimatum hasn't opened here yet and it's definitely looking like it will be the only seriously good film this year.

Definetly the worst of the Shrek series but the animation makes up for it. There should be an HDDVD and Bluray version as well.
Where's my Ratatouille?!?!?!
Went to sleep on both of them.....lame.....how Spielberg is executive producing this c**p?!?

I still need to see this. I loved the first two. I'll catch it at a 2nd-run theater.
Worse than c**p. But not Epic Movie c**p
It's c**p.
never saw this one but i loved the fist 2
