the orginal was one of the most scariest japan exports yet to date, better than the ring, pulse, the grudge, check out the japanese version of shutter
Twas Thai.
Joy, another really cruddy horror movie remake. Pass.
I wasn't even a fan of the original and had no intention on going near this pile of dung but was dragged there by friends. What a terrible movie, I mean seriously, It actually succeed in putting me in a bad mood for the whole night even though I knew it was going to suck before even sitting down. Avoid at all costs unless you like sitting there watching a girl walk around for an hour and PG-13 jump scares every 15 mins.
Some advise for Masayuki Ochiai, stay out of Hollywood and keep making more REAL horror movies like you did with Infection.
In the meantime I'm going to just continue doing what I did with the remake of One Missed Call, just forget it exists.

I'm actually usually able to gauge how bad these movies are by my ex. She goes to see all these PG-13 horror garbage-fests, and if she says it sucked, it must be reaaaaally bad, as she likes some really bad movies. She said this was awful, so I can only imagine it would make me want to tear my hair out.
Seems really lame, like all of those other stupid remakes of foreign horror flicks...
LOVED IT. I really thought it was a nice ghost story that kept you entertained. I will def buy the blu-ray disc
I got dragged into seeing this movie and...it sucked. I might be inclined to put it on par with One Missed Call (which I hated). I'm sure the "unrated" cut has only a few brief "bloody" scenes but that's it. Pass.
The original was above decent except for a few scenes. Good ending, though. This... looks terrible.
hope the trailer is on the dvd it was creepy
I knew they were going to pull off the 'Unrated'. But I think it's gonna suck.
The original was better than the remake.
If you look down under Rated Version in the photo snap shot its ays widescreen/full screen. I hate when they do that. I'm also tired of the 'Unrated'. It most likely turns out to be additional footage. And even though it's unrated a bad movie is a bad movie. But I'm willing to see the extras.

One missed call wasn't scary and the acting wasn't good I'll agree with that. But the movie wasn't terrible. It actually had cool ghostly images and was better than that stupid 'Prom Night'.
I wonder why Fox didn't pull off the digital copy. Fox has said numerous times that they wanted to try to make a majority of movies with digital copy.
I don't think that artwork of Shutter will stay that long. Under the artwork it says subject to change. Although I like the artwork it's creepy.

Well, actually they both stunk. I really don't know which was worst.

Probably wasn't doing too well. I mean, iPods are for music. Not movies. Besides, "Shutter" isn't worthy of a 2-Disc release. Let alone a 1-Disc.

I don't think that's the official artwork either. I'm willing to bet they bring out a hideously photoshopped one. Fox always has ugly covers.

Pass
im glad they keep the original cover...
blind buy for me :D
blind buy for me :D
So Fox can put extras you'd find on a 2-disc edition for Shutter and yet rips us off with the '2-disc digital copy' with putting all the extras on one disc and a digital copy on the second disc. Despite that I'm glad there was no digital copy. I think that maybe the revised official artwork will be much more bloodier than the theatrical artwork.

I wouldn't go too far that Fox artwork always has ugly covers. Juno, The eye, and Rambo all have great 1 disc and 2 disc artwork.

Nah - I will stick to the original if I can be bothered to see it.
Final artwork added
The fingers coming out of the eyes on the Unrated artwork look like penises.
This was pretty close to the original story/events wise. Not as good, but I will probably pick it up eventually.
The new artwork is creepier.
Oh, djeeeez.
What to do with this? How could they possibly screw this up?!
To actually make a 'less scary' version of the same film BUT with a blonde girl who frowns her eyebrows three scenes out of four is NOT okay.
And as for the artwork... why not use the original poster? Its colours were just fine. Now it's all... icky.
The stupid fingers do not render the whole thing creepy-- it already was. Here, it's called OVERKILL. It's like having a decapitated ghost head with worms coming out of his decaying mouth. There's no damn simplicity. The poster for 'The Eye' used the same concept with so much more class because it was its single gimmick... just like the pictures here should have been the only one.
