Region 2 gets in august to go along with Sin City 2.
The Region One edition, which is my favorite DVD, has the exact same stuff, but on two discs. I wonder when Region Two will get it.
It would be great if they sc**pped the stupid region coding system - why can't they work it out that as soon as they bring in one copy/region type system , someone out there will crack it?

Is there any documentation to back this up? And is it only Sony DVDs or has everyone come on board?

Europe and Asia may get more DTS soundtracks but America often gets more extras than Europe.
Just look at Cinderella Man and Ray. Cinderella Man R1 either a lovely R1 LE or a 2 Disc Standard Edition. The UK R2 barely has any extras.
Besides just import. It's not a big deal at all if you own a multi-region player.

You'd still need to import. I hope that means less region numbers, if the USA (I presume you actually mean North America?) and Japan are being merged. I'd prefer they sc**pped the whole pathetic scheme. It won't be long before HD Multi-region is out.
Europe (except for Russia) and Japan are both Region 2 but the discs are wildly different.

Any news on a region 2 one yet??????
Is it just me or is region 1 the region with the fewest DTS track DVD's. I mean, it seems like DVD's in other regions get the best audio available. I know our Sin City has DTS, but DTS-ES! Now that would be awesome. I can't wait for Blu-Ray, Sony announced that the new regions would put Japan and the U.S together. Japan is usually where the good DVD's are.
If it's anything like their release of the theatrical version it'll have a terrible interlaced transfer. The whole thing also has a yellow tinge to it.
Looking at the extras on disc 3 it looks like they're identical to the R1 extras so only DTS on the theatrical cut is different (only the Theatrical Cut gets DTS).
Instead of spreading the extras across discs 1 & 2 they've put them on a third disc. It's cheaper than the R1 too and is probably R0 anyway.
p.s - CD WOW have this up btw. Which adds to the above:
"###This version is non-digipak and no novel/comic book inside###
####Slipcase with Plastic Box packing"
