Quote: It was supposed to be a simple birthday weekend in Southern California. But when sunrise arrives two hours early in the form of a haunting light from an unknown source, a group of friends watch in terror as people across the city are drawn outside and swept into massive alien ships that have blotted out the L.A. skyline. From tankers to drones and hydra-like extraterrestrials, the aliens are inescapable and seemingly indestructible. Now, it will take every survival instinct the group has to elude capture in this riveting, action-packed sci-fi adventure starring Eric Balfour (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Donald Faison ("Scrubs") and Scottie Thompson (Star Trek).

i know i'm in the minority here but i kinda liked the movie. i understand why people may not like it completely but the tv spots/trailers for the film IMO showed what kind of film it was and it delivered. i admit the ending was a bit "Huh?!" but not in a way that was bad (again, IMO! LOL). i'd say RENT this to see if you like it before you think of blind buying it. this movie had some really cool nasty aliens (i believe 3 different types?). it also had moments of CLOVERFIELD and TRANSFORMERS and even INDEPENDENCE DAY. it's worth a rental (maybe even a buy once you see it!).
Worst movie of 2010. It stunk so bad, it might even make it as workst movie of 2011.
SKYLINE is not as bad as people would have you believe. I saw it at the theater & enjoyed it---just come with an open mind. The ending is different & I thought it was very realistic in terms of what might really happen if EARTH were invaded by aliens technically smart enough to space travel.
It was bad.
Looked bad, heard it was bad....I'm guessing it's bad.
After seeing the trailers for Battle: Los Angeles, this is probably going to pale in comparison. I still want to check it out as a rental despite the horrible reviews.

Wrong! It's worse! Horrible, horrible movie. Such a shame.

Ha ha. That's what I was thinking too while watching this and when I saw the first trailer for Battle Los Angeles. All they're missing is a power suit somewhere in there.
As far as the movie itself goes I didn't think it was horrible for what it is and what I paid to see it at the local cheap theater...parts of it were entertaining and the effects were decent. I can understand why a lot of folks hate the ending, but I thought it was a hoot.

The movie was so-so and the ending was meh

Hopefully they don't change that artwork much. It works really well! This movie was a letdown, but I am sure it will look and sound AWESOME on Blu. MIGHT buy if its under 20.
I'll never watch this film, so can someone tell me how it ends?
Not very good at all. The acting is horrid aside from a performance or two and the plot takes too long to get to the good stuff.

"indie" isn't a movie genre or something, there are no rules or styles to an "indie" movie. it just means the movie was made outside the studio system, it was made independently.

Hope there's a Rifftrax. That might make the whole stupid mess worth it.
I actually think the ending has promise... and the film looks like it cost 10x as much as it cost to make. The CGI was very good, shame about the movie's lousy plot and acting.
Definitly the worst film of 2010 and possibly has the worst ending of all time.
It's not that it's truly terrible movie - it isn't, I've seen far worse than this. The problem with this movie is it's horrific ending - it's beyond bad, it's god awful and stupid.. you'll be screaming WTF WTF WTF long after the movie is finished..
The horror doesn't end there though, the movie has made a ton of money considering it's budget ($10mil) that they're actually planning 'Skyline 2'!!

If you haven't seen this movie, don't bother renting it. Even syfy movies are more enjoyable than this dreck coz they don't take themselves too seriously. Yes, Skyline is THAT bad.

Yeh I'll rent but I heard its terrible. Movies like these are a gamble especially when u have basically a no name cast and what looks like a smaller budget than most these movies usually get.
This movie looked cool, but I heard it was garbage...it looks like it's worth a rental, at the very least.
Pass!
