Maybe it was the first time they made this movie....which they've done over and over. Next, 12 Monkeys, Deja Vu,...even the Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits have done this story....and much better, too.

Caught this film the other night at the local $2 theater. I liked it quite a bit, and it was definitely different. I'll be sure to pick it up.
I also agree about slip-covers. What kind of idiot wants to keep their discs in them and have to put them on and take them off again each time they want to watch the movie? What a waste of time and paper.

Slip covers are dumb. They serve no purpose other than to take up more room on my crowded shelves. I toss most of mine in the recycle bin. I hope this fad burns out, and soon.
You should consider saving them and when studios discontinue the slip-covered first prints, list the sleeves on eBay. You'd be surprised how much people are interested in them, especially for the Disney and Pixar Blu-rays. More recently, I saw the gold slipcover for Casablanca go for $25.00. It's borderline ridiculous.
I much prefer the poster artwork, though, but I know these days that's a moot point. Most artwork sucks now.

The only time he tries something out of the box is the very end, and it feels tacked on. There are also some dire moral implications to the ending that the movie just completely ignores.
Not sure how this got a better critical reception than Moon. Still, certainly worth a watch.
I mostly agree. I wasn't disappointed by the movie, but that was because the trailers didn't do anything for me from the start. Maybe I expected too much from it based on my expectations of Duncan Jones at the time. But yeah, Moon was much better, much more nuanced, etc. That being said, I did enjoy the movie. I think I gave it a B or B-.
Oh, and the thing about RT is that their percentage is based on a 2-point (thumbs up, thumbs down) system. So if 9/10 people gave it a C+, it would still be 90%.

Just a heads up BoBoi: the external links in your signature are not working. At least not for me. Sweet Melancholia image, by the way.
Fantastic attempt from Duncan Jones. Really enjoyed this one!
Wow, pretty good artwork for both releases. I liked this film, definitely worth a watch
Missed this in theaters, but I'm still interested in seeing it! I perfer the poster cover than this. This one is just colors splattered all over the cover.
might give this a rental. the plot seems interesting enough.

I actually wanted to see this movie. It looked pretty cool!!!! A rent for me.

Who or what are you defying by stating this?

Love this film. Can't wait to buy it.
Brilliant thriller with great sense of emotion! Watched it twice in theaters! Will definitely buy it!
Awesome to see this coming with a cool slipcover. Such a great movie.
Love Duncan Jones so much, excited to own this, but the covers look awful.
I really enjoyed this movie. It's definitely a very clever film that inspires a lot of thought, and I feel like it would require multiple viewings in order to fully "get" the whole movie. I can't wait to rewatch it again on DVD. The chemistry between Jake and Michelle was stunning, and Vera Farmiga was, as always, a joy to watch.
I enjoyed this one even though it wasn't as daring as MOON
this movie looked really good! i definitely want to see it!
really enjoyed this movie, hate the cover art on both the DVD and Bluray. Just seems too colorful and I would much rather have the poster instead as it actually relates a bit more to the tone of the movie. Seems someone who didn't see it just grabbed some pictures of Jake, threw in some ugly-a$$ colors, and went motion-blur-happy.
Seriously, who creates all of this horrible cover art anymore? I've seen alot of really nice posters but what happens when it's time to release the movie on DVD/bluray??

This is the best movie I have seen this year, hands down. It is a must see, but no really a must buy. Oh, and the cover art is atrocious.
I liked this film, but I think it's a tad bit overrated. I mean a 91% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes? That's kind of ridiculous. It's an enjoyable popcorn film, not something fantastic. I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Tried convincing my sister and mom to go see this with me after the Brewer game Saturday night, but we went out for pizza instead. I really want to see this, but I guess I'll wait to NetFlix it on release day.
Defiantly prefer the bluray cover art over the DVD. I enjoyed this movie but it wasn't quite as great as all the critics made it out to be. It was interesting to say the least.
