Whats with the covers changing after half the series has been released on dvd? Samething with the Simpson.
Ugly front artwork, but I'm glad the side and back are the same. The art for Season 8 should be the same as the last 6 sets with either the anime versions of the boys or the Sexy Action School News team. I like season 7 very much, although the golden age kinda ended here (the kids getting more mature, seeming less like cardboard animation) and having the only SP episodes to ever offend me: Krazy Kripples, where Christopher Reeve is portrayed evil, and Christmas in Canada- I live in Newfoundland and it's nothing like that in the episode. SP is still a really good show, it may have some bad recent episodes, but thy're never awful.
That artwork is so... strange. Very cool, though.

The mini commentaries are pretty much nothing special. Before each episode, Matt and Trey discuss maybe a little bit of the episode, some background, etc. These are only about 30 seconds segments though, so not much. No full length commenentaries, which I feel would be outstanding. These guys are hilarious!
actually, the mini-commentaries aren't before each episode but rather during the first few minutes of each episode. they're like regular commentaries, only after a few minutes Matt and Trey stop saying stuff :-)Thanks guys. It's a shame they didn't do full commentaries but oh well. I am a severe closet fan of this show

It really does seem pretty off from the usual. I'm happy that the spine is at least the same theme.
I'll try buying this as long as I hide it from my parents.
"How about a hard shelled taco, that c**ps ice cream ?"
South Park is still one of the most intelligent shows on TV. It's a shame people dismiss it as a "fart joke" show and fail to see that it pokes fun at western culture even better than family guy does.
This is one of the best seasons. The 'South Park is Gay' episode is one of my all-time favourites.

You can't mess with continuity in animated TV shows on DVD. Look what happened when TCFHE tried to change it up with "The Simpsons." They had to sell a more normal box after one 'head' packaging.
well, I'm also "anal" about dvd cover matchingness... for example, it bugs me that the "III" on the spine of SITH doesn't really match the "I" and the "II" on PHANTOM and CLONES... which btw was clear from the moment TPM was released because the "I" was simply too big... but I have no problem with the new SOUTH PARK cover... as long as the spines match, which they do, I'm fine with some craziness on the covers :-)
about the "fake-looking" wall... well, none of the previous covers was exactly "photo-realistic", were they? :-)

GENIOUS COVER! as long as they don't go towards "Simpsons Heads", any creative variations on the previous covers are great!
I'm amazed at the stuff that they can get away with, such as Tom Cruise in the closet and Bloody Mary, also the one where Timmy cheats at the special Olympics, which are so shockingly funny.
Please release these sets in the UK! We have only got up to season 4 in the old style packaging that looked horrible.
Dont want to have to start buying the R1 sets.

Kick Ass!!
Does any one know what they mean by mini-commentaries?

I don't like the cover either, but at least they kept the spine a single, solid color to match the others. South Park seasons look really good lined up together.
The South Park seasons are far too expensive for having nothing but commentaries ( and I guess on this one "mini commentaries" )on less than 20 episodes per season...

Well, as usual with the South Park boxed sets... wait until you see the inside cover and it will probably all make sense... I can just imagine a Cartman amidst a pile of bricks inside.
Terrible cover.
I am personally devastated by that cover art. What in the hell were they thinking?
I'll buy it for the metrosexual episode alone. I have never seen a more scathing attack on a current trend "We are Crab People!"
A bit of a move away from the previous covers, but I'll still be picking this one up. It's about the only TV show I regularly buy, actually. The covers so far have been great, and it's good to see the spines and cases style are consistent right through.

Awsome! I am so Buying This!
