If I get a PS3, I'll get the High Definition pack without a doubt. But it looks like normal DVD for now.
Let's hope the extras are a bit more riveting. I've found the previous ones to be quite generic and plain.

This movie was da shiz-nit, yo.....but only in certain parts. They need to have Aunt May and Mary Jane killed horribly in the fourth one, that way we'll be spared from weak relationship advice, and a lot of whining.
So no deleted scenes? Wasn't there supposed to be a whole bunch of deleted scenes? I guess we'll have to wait for Spider-Man 4 to come out for Spider-Man 3.5 or whatever.
WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many problems with this press release:
1-no giftsets?! FACK U SONY!
2-$36.95 for the 2-disc set?!! WTF!? companies keep increasing the prices to 2-disc sets, i wouldn't be surprised if 2-disc sets will be above $40 next year.
boycott this release already!

Does this release include a version of the film that isn't s**t?
This movie isn't worth $36,98. I will wait for pricedrop
So far, the most disapointing movie of the year.
Wow, that is one big cast commentary? Can't wait to get this, best of the series and easily the best superhero film after Batman Begins and X2.
I have to disagree that the previous 2 DVD's had plain extras. The "making of" on Spidey 2 is one of the best out there.
I will be picking up the 2 disk here, though know good an well a Spidey 3.2 won't be far down the road. I thought the film was good, but a let down after Spidey 2 kicked major butt and is, IMO, one of the best comic to film production done. I could have done without the 3 villain arc in Spidey 3. They were able to be extremely successful having only one main super villain in the first two. I would have been content with the ongoing struggle between Harry and Pete and then either had Venom or Sandman added, not both.

Whatever they do I hope they use that mirror image of spiderman and venom as the cover
Spider-man 2 had the worst dvd cover with Spiderman holding Mary Jane.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!
But what about the Gift set?!?!? the previous ones had both collector's gift set.

I don't get all the hate towards this movie.
It's not nearly as good as the first one but compared to the second one it's almost a masterpiece.

Scene: Top of a skysc**per under construction.
Sandman "I'm sorry I killed your Uncle."
Parker "Um, ... ok, bye."
Sandman goes away.
I did not care that Venom was only in a few minutes in the last act, nor did I care about the blatant feeling like it was a contactual obligation to need to have more of Toby's face shown, making me see more of Peter Parker than Spider-man. I just thought the Sandman (who looked great) fizzled.
Maybe part four will take it back to the fun part one had, and NOT give us more, more, more villians.

Artwork for the HD trilogy could be this
Can't wait to get the Blu-ray set...and put the third one up on ebay immediately.
I'll get the double-disc. I really liked this movie, probably the best of the three.
Spidey 2 remains the best movie of trilogy. Spidey 3 was a mild disappointment but the action sequences still delivered. Too many villians in the kitchen. Thank God they're ending here for now though. I'll still be getting this on release day.....
God i hate how Sony do this. You can guarantee there will be another edition comes along towards xmas next year with all the features they've kept back from this one. Sony are the biggest rip-off merchants for DVD out there. Does anyone remeber the rather weak re-release of the first Spiderman movie with an "exclusive" third disc of...well c**p?
this film's script and screenplay were atrocious. Baah...too bad you had to go ahead a ruin a good trilogy, Sam.
Alternatively, you will be available to own Spider-Man 3???

Really? I actually enjoyed "Spider-Man 3", but POTC 3 was the most disappointing threequel of this year. I liken it to "X-Men: The Last Stand". "Spider-Man 3" was reminscent of the later Batman sequels (such as "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin"
in the terms of villains and plotting, but SM-3 did a better job of handling the three villains than any of the pre-Nolan Batman films did.
Personally, all the faults with "Spider-Man 3" can be attributed directly to the producers, and not the director himself. The film was just packed with three villains (Avi Arad insisted on using Venom) and some of the plotting was ludriculous. Black Spidey's biggest offense is to show up Mary Jane at a jazz club, and there wasn't enough Spidey to begin with.
And kudos to Sony for making this the first 2-disc Blu-Ray release (and not cram everything on a BD-50), although Disney got to that area first. But still, both the Blu-Ray and 2-disc special editions are horribly overpriced. ($37 for the regular 2-disc DVD? Are they expecting a lot of people to shell out enough dough for that?)

Dreadful movie - just dreadful. I've never been a big Spidey fan, but this was the nail in the coffin. Easily the worst movie I've seen this year. While the too many villains issue was certainly one of the big downfalls, the thing that really stank up the theater, for me, was Peter's so-called foray into the darker side of his soul. Wow - look how sinister Pete has become, he's combed his hair down and makes the girl across the hall bake him lots of cookies! Yes, I see - the biggest battle truly does lie within - and what a pathetic little battle it was. And what makes it even more devestating is that Macguire is more than capable at playing a convicincingly sinister figure - as he does to perfection in "the Good German", which, while not a great film by any stretch of the imagination, at least showed us Macguire's range, as he shuffles from an "aw-shucks" boyish cherub to a frighteningly sadistic, brutal thug with nothing more than a blink. Why couldn't we have seen that Macguire in S3?
And don't get me started on how for some reason Dunst sings 3 different songs (or was it 2? sorry if I got this wrong - I've done my best up to this point to forget the movie as much as possible), a random asteroid carrying an alien just happens to land right next to Peter's bike (out of all the places on earth), the dialogue doesn't elevate itself above a "Dawson's Creek" level most of the time, the jokes are flat and stale, most of the cast looks bored, and even Bruce Campbell manages to look like an idiot. What a complete waste of talent - I have an idea! Let's cast James Cromwell (one of the greatest actors on Earth - period) and then put his talent completely to waste! Wouldn't that be awesome? And that's just one example.
I thought third superhero movies couldn't get much worse after X3 - but this certainly was.

Spiderman 2 was some weak-a** c**p. It was friggin' "Days of Our Lives....starring Peter Parker" and insanely boring. Even the action in it was weak. Spiderman 3 is about 1000x better than SM2.
first off, that's not how much the movie will cost, this site always displays the MSRP... now, as far as the msrp's they are displaying, i think there might have been a mistake, i don't think i've ever seen a blu-ray msrp at 49.95. the most i've seen is 39.99
We Love Being Screwed
Will be getting this, haven't seen it at the theatre yet...or maybe I should wait for the 'director's extended' cut.
However, what's up with those director's cut editions? Do you think they wouldn't allow Raimi to have his own cut? Give me a break, Spider-man 2.5 was an extended cut, it wasn't a director's cut. Or tell me why you as a director would allow to have your name on the credits?
As for the price, it is stupidly high...what's up with companies charging lots of money for 2-disc editions? What happened with the same price for the first 2 editions? Now everyone is screwing us for the 'special', 'deluxe', '2-disc' editions being so damn expensive?

This movie was the biggest let down of the year, I expected a hell of a lot more. I will pick this up when its cheap to complete the set.
As usual I will wait for some sort of Trilogy Box set. It seems that more Exclusives and Extras get released when they compile everything into a box.
This was probably IMO the best of the trilogy so far. Tons of character development and resolution of a few issues.

I liked it, even though it was not as thrilling as the second one. It was however, better than the first. One thing that I really hated about it were the FX. It cost 300 million to make and they couln't come up with better ones?
