LOL, I think it is!
Best theme tune ever (it even plays at the end of the recent movie's credits)! Pity the same cannot be said for the animation in this series. The 80s Spider-Man cartoons, and Spider-Man and His Amazing Firends, were much better.
I think the writing on the new Spider-Man animated series from Columbia/Sony was the best writing out of any Spider-Man animated series.

P.S. that 1960s Spider-Man song was even featured in two episodes of season 3 of Coupling.

Why critcize or even compare a cartoon that's 35 years old to today's standards!?! That's like comparing the "Superfriends"cartoon of the 70s with today's "Justice League".Of course, the animation isn't going to be stellar but what Saturday morning cartoon back in the 60s ever did? Regardless, the series was actually pretty fun(some episodes, even psychodelic) and, hands downs, captures the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko feel of the comic. For some of us folks who remember watching it as a kid on weekday afternoons, this is a bit of wonderful nostalgia that I'll be rushing to buy come June. Plus, the music was pretty jazzy and the fight scenes weren't too bad either.

I compare it because I can. A lot of the animation in the show was ropey even for the time, especially when compared to animation from other countries (as is my memory of it).
