Now they are complete!
Finally, Star Trek movies are all in anmorphic widescreen! And this one, 1st movie for the Generations, was one of their worst, but still not as bad as The Final Frontier (the only Star Trek movie I totally disregard!)! Still good enough to collect!
Sod this - bring on First Contact.
Unfortunately, STFC was NOT in the list of DVDs Paramount announced yesterday for '04.
I liked this movie and it was better than the 5th. Not as good a s the 6th. Wil def. get it because i have the rest and i can't wait till FC!!!!
As for cover-art, anybody download Ric Easton's covers for the Feature Films from dvdcoverart.com? They're badass. The spins form a spacey blueish background with a Star Trek insignia with starburst effect with 3rd party 3D models the Ent-A and Ent-E coming out of the insignia.
See this site for the entire (spine) image.
Set looks great on the shelf.

I surely hope they dont mess up this DVD like the did the star trek 6 CE. Those kind of blunders are omissions are inexcuseable.
They also better include the deleted scenes that exist, including the alternate opening.

bring on first contact. In my world there are 3 categories for st films there are first contact and wrath of kahn as top prize then there is everything else (excluding st1) as standard...then there is st1 which is both boring and stupid...pathetic atempt at matching 2001... anyways i cant wait for first contact dvd and would anybody else like to live on the NCC-1701 besides me DS9 works to
ncc-1701-E sorry bout thatn

I don't have it; exactly how did they mess it up?

Just as I was saying in the Top Gun posts, They first of all, didnt allude at all to the fact its a different cut of the movie. That gong sequence at the end is just terrible. Second, the packaging is totally mismatched with the other Special Edition Trek discs. It came in a white double amaray case, which I had to swap out with a black one to match (although for some reason ive also seen them in stores in black cases too), plus the package came with no insert, which while not totally important, does lend uniformity to the releases. Then theres the biggest blunder of all, that picture of the Enterprise B, a ship not even in the movie on the 2nd disc, and to add insult to injury, its posted Upside Down.
Incidents this sloppy shouldnt happen in a major release. My only consulation was that the DVD was only $14 canadian.
BTW here are screen caps of the R1 ST6 original dvd I was mentioning. The weird raised matte effect is harder to spot on a PC where the full image is exposed, but on a TV its sooooo distracting. Just compare where the bottom of the text translation is to the top of the frame. In other words, the bottom black bar is way thicker then the top.
Right-Click on the links, and then save target as, or else the links wont work, cause geocities sucks...hehe

^^^ The original disc wasn't anamorphic though, right? So that incident cam be totally possible. I had some old Widescreen VHS tapes that had that problem. May have been ST:VI.

No, the original release was not animorphic, for anyone interested in what im talking about, checkout the top gun post, which oddly enough turned into a trek discussion...hehe

1. The packaging says it's a different cut.
2. Mine came in a black case. Paramount has supposedly stopped inserts altogether.
3. Ooooh, the disc art is mis-printed. Oh, my, how could I have wasted my money on such a thing? Seriously, if there's a dumber thing to complain about, I haven't seen it.

Any word if it will be this year?
