Star Trek: Generations (US - DVD R1)
We have menu shots from this new collector's edition release
Title: Star Trek: Generations
Starring: Patrick Stewart
Released: 7th September 2004
SRP: $19.99
I'm back from a week away with menus from the new collector's edition of Star Trek: Generations, which will arrive in shops early next month. This two-disc set will include an audio commentary with Brannon Braga and Ron Moore, multiple behind the scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, scene deconstructions, galleries and more. Best of all though is the addition of a rather lovely DTS track. Nice. One thing that Paramount appears to have missed off though are the trailers (despite being labelled as included on the reverse of the box). We'll try and get an official comment from Paramount on that. For now though, here's our first look at the disc's menu system. The first disc features an Enterprise B trapped within the Nexus ribbon theme, whereas the extras disc takes you inside Stellar Cartography onboard the Enterprise D.

Lovely.
I'll wait for a boxset containing all ten movies, once the SEs for First Contact, and Insurrection are released.

The DTS isn't bad, but the picture is well short of the mark...
Deleted scenes? By which I mean do they add anything, or were they right to cut them?
That rendering of the Enterprise B looks like crap. It looks worse then some of the ships out of some more recent Star Trek PC games. I've seen pics from most of the deleted scenes from a Topps poster I had a long time ago of trading cards from the movie. The oribital skydiving has kirk dive and is met by Scotty and Checkov, the walking the plank has a wet dr crusher confronting a perplexed data, not sure about the picards xmas, and the alternate ending has kirk dying in a less spectacular way. Apparently they arent anything special, but more interesting then anything else.
Gotta get this one!

trailers
I really hope the trailers are on the final release. I always believe they are an essential part of features. All the other Star Trek SE's have them too.
Only a little over a week for this. I can't wait. And hopefully the news will start leaking soon on First Contact. ::crosses his fingers::

I totally agree. Although sadly the production quality of the Star Trek special editions is all over the place so who knows what to expect.

According to The Digital Bits, the trailers are not on the final release. Supposedly, there was some sort of clearance issue in getting them onto the set. Soooo.... while the packaging says the trailers are on there, they're not.
Here's the link for those interested. Just scroll down a little.
