At the end of the flick Quark was to beam down to the planet with a couple of Dabo girls and wanting to open some sort of spa on the planet.
Quote: If I recall, they were going to have Riker talk to him over subspace on the viewscreen for some information. I don't remember what for though, but I think it didnt add anything to the story and kinda stuck out so they got rid of it.
Didn't that happen in the TNG series?

I also know that in Nemesis, the Janeway cameo was supposed to be Seven of Nine, but Jeri Ryan was making Boston Public and couldnt find time. In the end it made more sense to have Janeway anyhow, not that they needed the scene though.

Anyone know if the deleted scene with Quark is gonna be included?? That alone would make this DVD a must-buy.
Great Price, Great Sound, Great Transfer!! This one might have felt more like an "episode" than a big-budget movie, but it was a pretty good episode, at that. It's a welcome addition to the collection.
I read the same thing as Brett tho, that Frakes had already recorded an Audio Commentary, so I dont understand why its not included?!? His commentary for First Contact was actually kind of funny, even tho he didnt go into alot of the technical detail I found it entertaining---Unlike Lucas's commentaries for Star Wars which are absolutely void of any humor or tales about the actors from him. And after listening to Shatners dismal commentary with his daughter for ST:5....Im sure this would have alot more to offer, lol.
Still, even if they dont include the commentary---after being able to pick up First Contact for just 12.99US---this is a great DVD. Now if the sets of Season DVD's would just drop in price......yeesh!

Yes, trailers for the movie are on the second disc.

Rest easy my friend... The majority of your DVDs will probably not see the tremendous improvement all the hype would have you believe. From what I have seen, unless you are viewing on an extremely large monitor, the enhanced video will only impress the most anal retentive home theater enthusiasts. There are a handful of films that I might feel compelled to repurchase, however, I strongly believe that high definition is going to have a more difficult time penetrating the mass market than the DVD. Many early DVDs have already been remastered and look stunning on large displays. Most people have yet to purchase high definition monitors and they have invested quite a lot in their DVD collections. The pricing structure of the DVD was quite different from VHS from the start. Many people have become purchasers rather than renters. The average Joe is not gonna be willing to shell out thousands of dollars to make a new technical leap so quickly on the heals of adopting DVD. The leap of quality in picture, sound and convenience from the DVD to either high definition format will be nowhere near as great as it was from VHS to DVD. I predict a great deal of resistance in the market for quite a number of years. Add to that the fact that there is a looming format war between the Blue-Ray and HD-DVD camps with other formats currently in development as well. Until a new format is adopted by the majority of consumers, the studios will be hesitant to churn out their more obscure catalog titles any time soon...it would be too costly . I may be wrong, but I see a very long life for the DVD in its current form.

Sorry, just an accidental duplicate
I hate this film..
After the absolute genius of First Contact, they followed it up with this awful, awful OAP's in space piece of trash. F. Murray Abraham is always good value as a villian but apart from that it's dull, dull, dull.
It's padded with unnecessary in-jokes at a desperate attempt to inject some humour (Worf going through Klingon puberty? Troi and Crusher commenting on the increasing firmness of their bosoms? Please, no...) there are unexplained plot holes asunder, the climax is so dull I heard crickets chirping, they don't make use of the supporting cast at all, and quite frankly it's the same old recycled, space western plot: poor villagers being put upon by the big corporation, Picard and company defy orders to DO THE RIGHT THING.
I love Star Trek, I really do. I once attended a marathon of films to commerate the release of Generations (which is definately a padded out cast off episode but never mind that) and loved every Enterprise exploding minute of it. But with DVD's I have to be cruel, and only the good stuff gets let in. First Contact and Wrath of Khan are the only ST films I will own (up to now anyway). Nemesis at least tried to be something other than an episode with a bigger budget and it turned out they didn't have a big enough budget. This film doesn't even have those high aspirations, and they STILL didn't have a big enough budget.
Very disappointed...

"I'll stick with my widescreen VHS thank-you very much"
DTS sound, deleted footage, and anamorphic widescreen, how could you pass that up for a less then $15 bucks?
Best Buy and Circuit City always has these for about $14 the day there released.

Paramount Just Wants Our Money
Fellow Trekkers and Trekkies: Do not be fooled, this is Paramount screwing us again. Do not buy this until they re-release it with Director's Commentary.
Will the movie's trailer actually be on this disc, Paramount, or will you exclude that on us as well?
There is no way I will support this by buying the disc, no matter how much I love Insurrection. I'll stick with my widescreen VHS thank-you very much.

That price will drop very quickly as well - I like these releases as they all have been well polished...
Looking forward to getting this and hopefully the eventual Nemesis CE to complete the collection.
The deleted scenes have some charmers among the bunch. Love the featurettes (they even include a featurette on a filmed stunt they never included in the final movie).
Yeah, its a cheesey sequel. However, its still a decent escape for some brainless evening.
Star Trek Insurrection is nothing more than a (bad) bloated episode. Having said that I will be buying this to complete my collection. Why no audio commentary? Maybe Paramount heard how lackluster Frakes' commentary for First Contact was and they nixed it.
The movie may suck, but those menu's are sweet. Thank god, no more LCARS. I wouldnt bother to pick this up if it were any more, but First Contact and Generations were $13 when they came out, so I'll finish off the collection if the prices stay that low.
As for HD-DVD which is what Paramount is signed up for, I wouldnt worry about it. You're about 5 years away from affordable worthwhile equipment and software, and thats if they get their act together. Anything is far from certain now.

DARN IT!!
Man, this disk looks good. What sucks about this whole thing is I'll be purchasing them again after the blu-ray/HD-DVD format war ends!!

Wait...no commentary?
I know Frakes recorded one, why is it not included? Gah! This sucks!
I'll still buy it though cos it's better than the other disc and I have all the other CEs.

Man, less than two weeks for this. I am excited. I know it isn't the best film, but I love all the CE's of Star Trek. And unlike the season sets, they are rightly priced. Menu shots aren't bad, not as good as First Conatact's, but neither was the movie.
Come on June 7th!!!!
Come on June 7th!!!!
Too true.
The Australian release for the Nemesis CE I heard is November. Which means a probable September October for you guys in the USA.

Subject Too Short
Only one CE left after this? Will be nice to finally have the entire set.
