I want First Contact on its own, but that's about it.
That's a really nice looking set. I'll be picking this one up for sure. Now where are the remastered S.E of the first movies?
Set franchise to "stunned..."
Also known as "The Ram-Raid Gimmick", "The Good One", "The TV Episode That Slipped into Cinemas" & "The Hopless, Thieving Mess", respectively.

I like all these movies. First Contact is easily the best of this collection and probably my favorite of the whole series, but I haven't decided where I'd rank the new one yet.
Nice box art.
seems they've kept all the extras from the previous editions and added a few more, that's always cool when they do that.
dont think i love this series enough to double dip, i'm happy with my dvds but maybe some time in the future the blu-ray set will be on sale or something and i'll give in. lol
let's just hope these look better in blu than the first 6 movie set did.

It's a bit like the original series of films: The Boring One, the Often Overrated One, the Slightly Less Boring Than the First One (One), The Fun One, The Antithesis of All Things Good One and The Best One

Damn, noticed there are new commentary tracks on this set. I'll have to flip a coin whether or not to double dip.

Well you're in luck!
TrekMovie.com reports that First Contact will be available on its own. The Blu-Ray version will cost US$24.99, while the DVD version will go for US$12.99.

Does The First Contact Blu-Ray include deleted scenes (I thought I read The digital Bits reporting it as so)?
GREAT! i have been looking for the CE of these. so can't go wrong
This is a def for me!
Just picked up the original set for £35 on eBay, get in!

David Blackwell, listen to the commentary by director/star Jonathan Frakes. Every scene filmed for "FC" was used
Excuse me!! But where are the DTS tracks for each of the films??????

I was asking because The Digital Bits has deleted scenes among the extras for the Blu-Ray (why I'm asking in the first place) and an old issue of Sci-Fi Universe talked about rumored deleted scenes.
As much as I love audio commentaries, Jonathan Frakes is very dry and i have listened to several audio commentaries over the years (that sometimes they do blend together a little).

yippee!! cant wait.
I still have to pick up The Complete Motion Picture Set lol. No doubt I will pick this up.
I want to own all the first 10 Star Trek films on blu-ray, but I think I am going to wait for a 10 film boxset that is sure to come. After all, The Motion Picture, Khan and Undiscovered Country are still missing their director's cuts. Hopefully I'll be right in assuming that once those are remastered there will be a 10 film blu-ray collection. Although I will say that the sets so far have been tempting and feature great artwork!
I wouldn't mind these on BD but I really hate the way this studio mmilks the franchise for all its worth - and then some more

They have Dolby TrueHD. Which is better (isn't it?)

I'd be less bothered about picking this up. I'm more excited about getting TOS 2 and Star Trek XI on bluray. Might pick this up eventually though.

Yes, better than DTS, and theoretically the same as DTS-HD Master Audio, although Dolby tend to use dialogue normalisation and the DTS Core is better than standard Dolby. Not really anything in it when it comes to the HD side though (both are lossless).

whats with this star trek evolution thingy?! is this a documentary?!
One of the best artworks I've seen in the past months.
So have any of these recently re-released sets been remastered versions, or are they just reprints of the original CE releases?
I'm pleased Paramount have done this as I'm only interested in the original 6, enough to upgrade anyway.
These are BDs not DVDs Lincoln6Echo. Whether they're using new HD Masters or existing ones, is unknown.

No, this listing shows DVD as well, that's why I asked.

First Contact artwork added
So apparently First contact is both the 7th and 8th movies?

Simple but beautiful artwork.
