Best of Both Worlds should have been included instead of Sins of the Father. Not only because Best of Both Worlds is hands down the best story in all of Star Trek, but b/c it's a better showcase for a HD upgrade
Oh great, a series of s**t episodes in HD... Okay, maybe that's not fair, but Encounter at Farpoint sucks balls.
It's weird that they picked those particular episodes for the sampler. If they wanted to show off how good the show can look on blu-ray, you'd think they'd have picked episodes that had more effects. Like Cause And Effect, Schisms, or The Next Phase. Or one of the Borg episodes or one having to do with the holodeck, like Q-Pid, where Q made the crew Robin Hood and the Merry Men.
paramount mentioned there's a problem with one of the episodes. they couldnt find the original reel or whatnot for one scene so 12 seconds of the Sins episode will simply be upconverted. i doubt it'll be that glaring a difference and doesnt last long but kudos on them telling people before it came out.
it does make one wonder about the rest of the series though, is this something they might encounter a few more times and could it be worse in those cases?
