very cool.....never bought the show on dvd but this is tempting. but the box set w***e in me wants to wait til the whole series is out and they make a complete series collection. of course there's 2 drawbacks to that....it'll probably be 2 or 3yrs before that comes and god knows how much they'll ask for it. the dvd sets for the star trek shows are still overpriced compared to everyone else.

I'm hoping each of these seasons be is released in a reasonable timeframe so that I'm not collecting Social Security by the time Season 7 comes out.
Also, did they do the "special edition" thing like they did with TOS's CGI effects? As a purist, I gotta say they did some darn fine work with the new effects on TOS. Lucas could take a lesson.

they didnt redo all of the effects like TOS. apparently a few were redone but only when they had too. otherwise its all the original stuff just enhanced since they went back and reinserted all the F/X from scratch. as for the timeframe, i'm guessing they'll release season 2 at the end of the year or early next so we can expect a good 3yrs or more before its all said and done.
and it wouldnt surprise me if they waited another year or more before releasing a complete series collection.

It's good news that they found the missing footage from Sins of the Father. I hope they re-integrate for this release.
They won't. Sins of the Father occurs in the third season.
It's not until the third season that the show really picks up anyway. There are a few good really good episodes in the first two series, but it's too much like original Trek (miniskirts and all). Season two also suffered because of the writers' strike.

don't forget the spandex suits...they didn't flatter anyone, not even Troi...well ok its never bad seeing her in something tight but you know.
oh and i had no clue they found the "sins" footage so thats cool.

Yeah, I didn't really get into it until Season 3 either. That was the Yesterdays Enterprise season wasn't it?
Yup, and Deja Q, The Defector, Sins of the Father, Allegiance, Captain's Holiday, Hollow Pursuits (first Barclay episode) and part one of The Best of Both Worlds.
Another "ok" but hardly comprehensive set of extras too. They always manage to do the bare minimum for Trek.
