I can't wait to see the restoration in a couple of years time, when the price is reasonable...

you might not have to wait super long. maybe they'll do like the original series and start airing these HD versions in syndication. obviously tv HD isn't as nice as direct blu-ray but its pretty darn good. lol

Is it really considered restoration when they have replaced the visual effects? Hmmm.....
I have been really taken aback by some of the restored visual effects, noticeably the crystaline entity, and simple things like the Enterprise in orbit of a planet, I watched Too short A Season and when the bough breaks and the planets Mordan and Aldea look amazing with the Enterprise in orbit.
I am really pleased with the results.

Pity this is the worst season of them all, and it's shorter than the others because of the writers' strike.
