I think it would look good as "Special Collector's Edition" art, but for something that's supposed to entice potential buyers... garbage.

I'm not a fan of the show but loved the movie. Will buy on blu.
I really don't get people. If they'd used the floating heads montage featured on the main page (as some are calling for here), then a ton of people would take issue with that (including me). They use the original poster art (which is typically the preferred way to go), and people still complain. What do you want, guys? "Boring" or "floating heads"? Personally, I'll take a "boring" cover with a simple, tasteful graphic over a generic photoshop job of the cast with an obligatory shot of a battle underneath any day. But it's no wonder that studios do opt for the floating heads option so often when they're criticized this much when they actually do go with original poster art.

Well, the original poster art was boring. There were quite a few who disliked it when it was first shown, so to make this the cover art was blah. In this case, I would prefer a floating heads job. Oh, and one other somewhat unrelated note, am I the only person who is extremely pissed to not have artwork on the actual discs themselves that I buy, more specifically recent releases from Paramount, Universal, etc? I really hate that...if I'm gonna pay my hard earned money to get a DVD, I want to have artwork on the disc and inserts too (I miss those).

I like the cover. I HATE the digital copy.
That cover art looks like a blurry skateboard.
Best movie of 2009 so far! Definate first day buy. But, that artwork, aswell as the poster, are horrible. I'd rather the floating heads!
Would kill for a steelbook with this art...
I was hoping they'd go with the other theatrical poster (Floating heads) for the BLu Ray release, but this is a must have non the less. One of the years best films EASILY!
The artwork sucks. period. Paramount, you can do better than that, especially for an awesome movie like this. And who else here thinks that it's cheap of paramount to have that boring grey label on their discs?
I for one loved this film and don't understand towards it, despite the rave reviews.
Revised artwork added...
I actually really dig the new artwork. Though I think the best choice would've been the original teaser posters with all the characters in the 4-colored Starfleet logo. Most people hated that art, but I loved it.
Agree that the 4-colored one would've been best. I think this revised one looks like butt.
Agree that all the characters should have been featured in the cover. I must say, Im less enthused about this cover.
The revised artwork looks horrible and the 2-Disc and 3-Disc Digital Copy Edition look too disjointed but I guess it's worth the money.
The (new) 2 disc cover looks awful.
Well, it's better than the Original Artwork, but the revised is still a bit... ugh... And I liked the 3-Disc ULTIMATE edition better than the "Digi-copy Edition."
the new cover art looks great
The revised artwork is TERRIBLE, Paramount. The only problem with the previous artwork was the stupid, too-large font used for the "2-Disc Digital Copy" title. This one is just... ugh. Doesn't give consumers a sense of the movie at ALL.
And where's the artwork for the single-disc edition?
And where's the artwork for the single-disc edition?
I like it better than the original artwork but yeah, it's still lame.
New artwork = fail.
Wow, I was excited when I saw that they revised the artwork, I thought maybe they listened to us...then I saw the revised artwork. Definitely a big step down, it's just too busy to look at.
New cover = Way too much WHITE
I personally prefer the Blu-Ray revised artwork over the DVD revised artwork. I also like how the 3-Disc Digital Copy Special Edition looks on the Blu-Ray and yet again I do prefer the Revised Artwork over the Original Artwork but they should've just used the Original Artwork instead. The Revised Artwork would have looked good on the re-release.
the new artwork is interesting from a design standpoint. As a DVD fan, I'm not too impressed with the cover art.
Wow...
They've changed the cover from terrible to awful.
Well done!

It's a slight improvement... but it's still pretty terrible.
I prefer the original artwork.
