20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the release of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume One for the 9th of May. The disc will include nineteen three-minute (and one five-minute) chapters presented in anamorphic widescreen (1.78:1), with Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround audio, director’s commentary, a Hyperspace commentary, a ‘Bridging the Saga, Episode III/ Clone Wars Connections’ featurette, an EPK, a Republic Commando Xbox game trailer, an Episode III game trailer, an Episode III teaser trailer, a sketches and storyboards still gallery, and a posters and artwork still gallery. You can expect to pay around £15.99 for this disc when t hits stores. Here’s the official artwork.

The first set of 20 shorts was so successful, they commissioned a second set that just debuted on TV. It was another 5 shorts, this time about 10 minutes in length. They rocked too. Volume II will probably drop into stores late summer.

Incidently, what a rip at £15.99, here I got it for $14 Canadian.

It's a fantastic disc

The only letdown is that there isnt 5.1 sound. You would think of all companies, Lucasfilm would do a THX approved 5.1 remix.

Woah!

I was wondering if this would ever come out, I thought the people in charge weren't too happy about it being better than the last two films put together but I guess they came to their senses finally.

Very fun cartoon, heavy on the action and very little else, reminds me a lot of the older cartoons just with better animation and fight scenes.
