I enjoyed this, and the first two episodes of the series were very good. This will look great on Bluray.

I love animated films but this should never have been given a cinema release. The CGI is awesome but it was just a poor excuse for a series of action scenes and it was clearly made for the TV.
I ended up with a headache half-way through watching the film. At least, I stuck til the end - while some teens at the cinema decided to walk out halfway.
I hope the quality of the TV series improves.

Superior sound? how about a superior script or story? or invest in decent animation...?
It had nothing to do with the clone wars.. it was "The Star Wars Adventures In Babysitting Special". I love the metal casing... looks better then anything in the movie. What a waste of great packaging....

Hey, I'm picking that up, too, and work for none of those companies. I happen to love Star Wars, and I liked that movie well enough, and that cover is too kick-ass to pass up.

I might buy a few copies of the steelbook, then wait a couple months and sell them on ebay to make some profit. No reason to open them though, much less put them in my dvd player.
I'll pass on this one, even the cutscenes in Star Wars the Force Unleashed we're epic compared to this.

My kingdom for a decent new Star Wars movie, not a blind, jumpy farce that seemed to be aimed at the toy market....
Cool how it has all these box arts! Looked like a c**ppy movie.
Will definitely be picking up the BB exclusive Steelbook. Loved this movie.
Blah. I'll pass! Why Star Wars Clone Wars?
I prefer Live-Action Star Wars better and I'm still waiting for the whole set of all 6 Star Wars DVD.

Though I'm not positive where to place this chronologically; I believe in between Clone Wars: Volume One and Clone Wars: Volume Two.From what I hear, Anakin is a full Jedi and has a scar in this film/show so it takes place after Chapter 21 (1st episode of V. 2) of the Tartakovsky Mini.

Personally, I'm glad it doesn't. I like that this looks separate, as do the two volumes of the as-of-yet-superior Genndy Tartakovsky mini-series Clone Wars. I just hope that future releases of the series have either better standard artwork, or preferably, equally badass BestBuy steelbooks.

I might give this a rental.

The steelbook is by far the best, but I think the only bad cover is the regular 2-disc; why is it only Anakin? And also, though he looks kinda cool, what's with the random clone on the Target 2-disc? Shouldn't that have been Rex?

How long until their is a sequel?...Oh wait, a TV series is coming out....
That steelbook packaging looks pretty nice.
I'll get it even though I never got to see it in theatres. I'm sure it's not as horrible as some make it out to be but maybe that's because I don't have expectations that it's as major as the original two trilogies.
I like the animations tyle too but when I first saw it i was quick to dislike it. over time I have accepted this homo c**p!

Exclusive Target packaging. Gotta say, the regular 2-disc (and blu-ray) artwork with just Anakin looks awful. The other covers look OK, especially the Best Buy.

Didn't even consider seeing this at the cinema. I bet this is the only SW movie that Lucas feels that he doesn't have to fiddle around with. Hopefully Lucas will now decide to let SW be and to move on and make some of those personal films he has been talking about.
The prequels turned out to be a rather pointless exercise, and I think the SW saga has been butchered enough already. Get the proper films out on Blu-Ray (hopefully with some more pointless changes like spirit Jar-Jar to join father-younger-than-son spirit and friends).
This film has shown the difficulty with putting SW into other mediums whilst taking away from essential elements, no doubt the live ation show will suffer the same fate too.

how come there are 2 different blu-ray covers? because blu-ray movies always contain the 2 disc version contents so is that simply a "choose your favorite cover" thing or are they different releases?
awful movie
but that best buy exclusive looks f**kin awesome!

I was one of the few who really enjoyed this as an intro to the show, which I eagerly await next Friday. I will definitely be getting the 2-Disc but the coverart isn't that great and they should have totally kept the awesome poster on the single disc. Although I may just pick up the steelbook at best buy.
If I can find a best buy (I just moved to a new state), then I'm all over that metal packaging.
I heard that the actual series is far better than this, which I missed on the digital cinema that I usually go to, so it will be film for me on the dollar theatre...oh, and it's SW, so there is no reason why it wouldn't have a 2-disc edition, since it was released in theatres.
And that BB metal packaging looks AWESOME...

S**tty artwork I reckon, and I feel it is more of a cash-cow than a genuine continuation or redirection of the saga, but I'm keen to see it on the small screen. (I mean my ipod, prob download it!!)
I haven't had the chance to see this. It looked good to me, watching the trailers unleashed the dormant Star Wars geek in me. I couldn't believe how badly this was panned by critics and am amazed at all the different exclusives they are planning to release. I'll definitely pick up the Target exclusive Blu-ray so I can get my discount :-)

Target has a 2 Disc Special Edition of Speed Racer.

The regular 2-disc cover looks like it should be the 1-disc cover, and vice versa for the 1-disc. This c**p looks homo.

Oh but it did have several of Williams's SW themes, they were rearranged to the point beyond recognition.

well there is a difference, speed racer cost well over 100 million dollars and barely made 20. while clone wars cost around 4 or 5 and made nearly 30. so profit wise it was a success so i can see why they gave it the 2 disc treatment and left speed racer out in the cold. also its "star wars" so i'm sure name recognition made the decision too.

Skipped seeing it in the movie theater. Guess my first Star Wars experience in Blu-ray will have to be this. Between this, the new Clone Wars series, and The Force Unleashed video game, there will be plenty of Star Wars to go around for the next couple months....
obviously its about money but...i'm surprised to see this announced, i figured they woulda just released this with the eventual "season one" collection of the series.
so that raises the question, when that release does come will this be included?

I'm sticking by what I've said: Decent kid-oriented TV show episode, not a good movie. However, the animation is pretty cool, and the movie got me really pumped for the show, which is finally going to stop focusing on just Anakin and Obi-Wan.
At any rate, I'm definitely getting that kick-ass BestBuy steelbook the second it comes out. I liked the movie well enough, and that just looks too awesome to pass up.

This "movie" (and I use that term loosely) was absolutely horrible. Even my Star Wars-addicted son couldn't sit through this. The 2D animated Clone Wars was far superior to this horse filth. I suggest we just pretend this never existed.
what a freakin awful movie. i cant stand the star wars movies. they are horrible. i wouldnt have cared if they never released it.

Wasn't bad.
THX for superior sound?... But I don't see the lossless audio in any place. Any one?
This wasn't that good (5/10), but as I'm a completeist, I'll pick it up anyway.
This wasn't as bad as people think - sure, we didn't have Williams' Star Wars theme, but that's down to Fox. We must accept that this is for kids, and most of us true fans were kids when we first saw the movies, we've grown up but the films haven't. It it is pretty much non stop action all the way through - for the kids! LOVED the scrambled radio message over the 'A long time ago...' opener. Nice packaging by the way!
Once the show get's going next month and has a little time to breathe, i think a rewatch of the opening movie/episodes will be great to revisit.
All this is depending on the show being good of course.
All this is depending on the show being good of course.
It's just a few episodes of a cartoon stitched together. Didn't really work as a theatrical experience, but on the small screen it should look cool (especially on BD).
This was one of those "what the hell was that?!?" movies.
It will be intersting to catch it on the small screen.
The Wilson Bros

I want that Metal packaging but for blu ray!
Awful in every way.
