No audio commentary from Carpenter and Bridges from the R2 DVD = no sale. It's not as if another company owns the rights to the commentary--Sony distributes this in the UK if I am not mistaken--so there's no reason that the commentary shouldn't be on the region A Blu-ray disc other than laziness.

I fully agree, but i will be buying this anyway (and i have the R2 DVD). One of the finest Sci-Fi films to date IMO. Nitzsche's score in HD sound is enough to me.

Fixed the regions. Like most Sony releases this is all region. No commentary, at least according to the back of the cover.
Probably just wait on the region B disc to be released then, assuming they port over the R2 DVD features and it's not region locked.
My personal favorite from John Carpenter..very emotional performance for a alien(Bridges)..stood on the rim of the crater where the finale was shot..amazing.It's a no-brainer upgrade to Blue...
the standard DVD is a Pan and scan right?
No. Anamorphic widescreen 2.35:1
I still can't undertand this blu-ray releases with just the film and with high prices while the standard dvd has extras and quite cheap.

Never was able to catch this. Will rent.
Need commentary....please....
Puzzling thought why skip on what the region 2 DVD offers?
