Excellent news! Not really interested in Graveyard shift, but the other three are a must own for me.

Since I’m a HUGE fan, I’ve read and re-read just about every novel written by Stephen King. When his work is translated to the big screen…well…I sometimes find the film versions come up short. [In the case of “Dreamcatcher”…VERY short!!...Yuk!] Yeah, a book will almost always be superior to a movie, but with the notable exception of Frank Darabont’s “Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile”, I usually find myself disappointed.
Movie versions of any books rarely stand up and I agree with FrankJac. Especially King who captures some of the slightest of human condition rarely can be expressed completely onto film. Kubrick's The Shining was cool but then it's Kubrick and Nicholson just taking it to another level. IMO, even though it's not King, the Lord of the Rings trilogy comes the closest and that at nearly 12 hours of extended version. Again, IMO, when it comes to books to films, most readers would probably like a 6 to 10 hour version of the film in most cases to really capture the book which ain't gonna happen in Hollywood.
i want this
I`m looking forward to this set. I really liked the Dead Zone and Silver Bullet, and Pet Cematery always used to scare me straight. I haven`t seen Graveyard shift, but I will as soon as this set`s released.
I AM DEFINITLEY BUYING THIS ESPECIALLY FOR DEAD ZONE AND PET SEMATARY!!!F**k yeah!
Best Book To Film adaption is FIGHT CLUB, so accuate besides the ending.
I might get The Dead Zone but WHY? no Cronenberg commentary? didn't he do one on the Region 2 SE?

Dang. No commentary by David Cronenberg on "The Dead Zone" CE!!! Damn shame since it's the best King-to-Movie adaptation. That probably means I will give it a pass.
Why isn't "Cujo" in this set? I thought Paramount had recently acquired the rights?
I've always wanted to see Pet Sematary. I guess now I'll get my chance.
same here
Wait.
Is the "Silver Bullet" art correct?
If it is just a re-pack, why is it labeled as a Collector's Edition?
I can't recall any bonus features on the first edition.

I can't wait for the Dead Zone, great flick, might get the Pet Sem too, but I already have Silver Bullet and it's just new artwork right?
Every indication says Silver Bullet is simply a repackaging, so don't get too excited. On August 8th Paramount is re-releasing a slew of horror titles in slick new packaging; this and Graveyard Shift are just two of many repacks to be released that day. It's still a couple months away though, so we'll let you know if that changes.
As for The Dead Zone, the transfer is probably the same exact one already available, and to me all the added featurettes don't make up for the fact that there's no commentary with Cronenberg. Seeing as that is exactly what I was hoping for with this release I'll be sticking with the current disc myself.

what's the price of the boxset????
I actually have no doubt that these are new transfers. Not included in this box set is "Cujo" which Paramount finally has the rights to. I read somewhere that this will finally be available in its original aspect ratio on the same date that this box set is released.

Pet Sematary would almost have to be a new transfer since they are adding the commentary track, but that depends on how they originally encoded the film for the last release; whether or not the picture has been re-mastered, however, is another story. The Dead Zone will more than likely not be a new transfer, just the same video and audio from the old edition with new special features; you can expect the same for the other two titles in the box set as well.
When the first rumors came around about the set a while back, Cujo was mentioned as being part of it. As to if that was ever true or why it was changed is anyone's guess, but I'm guessing that the release just wasn't going to be ready in time. Currently there is no official information on Cujo, so whether it will be released on September 26th along with the set remains to be seen.

Worth it for like twenty bucks....I'd be happy to get this one.
Is it me, or does that box set look too narrow to house 4 discs in full Amaray cases?
Hope the box isn't a slim-case mess!

i'll get pet sementary just for the commentary. silver bullet was pretty weak, and graveyard s**t, well, it will depend on it's features.
If the price is good i'll probably get it - been a fan of Stephen King's for years but I haven't bought many of his films yet
"Sometimes . . . dead is better" lol, oh man. The South Park episode when they made fun of it was so funny. I love Pet Semetary, scared the wits outta me when I was little. I try to ignore the horrible song during the credits though.
Well I don't own either Pet Sematary or The Dead Zone, So if the price is right I'll get the set but I dunno as silver bullet is only ok & Graveyard Shift is nearly unwatchable...The 4 pack would actually be nice to have them in slim cases, as my dvd collection is rather huge and have multiple cabinets full of them!
The Dead Zone is the only film in this pooptacular set worth having, the rest are pure garbage.
No Cronenberg commentary on Dead Zone?! Screw this new release then, my R2UK release is fine.
I will purchase this set and am I the only 1 who enjoyed "Graveyard Shift" for it's Cheese factor?(I have not read the short story yet though).
Yes.
And as stated, the other 3 are essential owns (especially considering I don't own any of them).
But as someone else asked, how much is the boxset gonna go for?
