Same cover as the R1 release isn't it? Another bare bones perhaps? I see another blasphemous statement from you Gabe I thought the movie was pretty good for a Stephen King story to screen and I have the bare bones DVD. Tim Curry did a great performance.
But seriously people, read the book - it is the best version of this story

I actualy think the actors are all solid, the film is slow and plodding up until the last act when the ultimate evil becomes a spider. lame.

Excellent adaptation (minus the ending - ugh). I've had this on R1 for a while now (along with full cast commentary) so I'll give it a miss. Anyone who doesn't have it? Pick it up post haste.

Liked the first half with the kids and the second half has its moments, but I'm with Gabe, when the ultimate evil turns out to be some spider-crab thing its just lame.

This was out on R2 a few years back on a very limited release, it was a snap case DVD and it had nothing on the disc apart from the film itself, not even scene selection. I bought it when I worked in Virgin Megastores but sold it on eBay a while back now for a fair deal or money.
Same artwork as before, obviously theres no BBFC rating on it yet

yeah the first half of this is very good. I actually forgot that a giant spider appears at the end, until like 6 years ago when I re watched it. It made me wonder what they were thinking.

This movie was fantastic....right up till the animated spider thingy came in and I laughed my rear end off. I still have a problem sitting straight without assistance.

The messed up thing about this DVD release is that they cut out the opening minutes of Part 2 - the scenes that depict Bill Denbrough's ride through Derry and arrival at the cemetery is missing. And by omitting all this, they have omitted the opening credits as well, which they must have thought redundant. But it's not. I love that there's commentary on the DVD, but I still enjoy my laserdisc set of this movie, which features the intact opening of Part 2...
Are Warner Bros finally releasing all of the Stephen King TV movies in the UK?
