Quote: Born from the creative vision of filmmaker Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300), this epic action fantasy launches from the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Locked away against her will, Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four fellow captives – outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) – to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorki (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm).

I think that might be included on the Blu-ray release. Will hopefully get that confirmed later

One of the seemingly few that loved the movie. Will definitely purchase the Director's Cut.
I'm joining the surprisingly high amount of the seemingly few who liked this--it wasn't a masterpiece, but it was entertaining with a good feminist message.
Thats a great cover. Cant wait to pick it up
Can´t Wait, this it´s just what I was waiting for, an EXTENDED EDITION! AWESOME!
Given the difference in Blu-Ray and DVD times I guess it is the Directors cut. Its 127mins Blu and 110mins Dvd.
Wonder why its called Extended Cut rather than Directors Cut, considering that Snyder constantly referred to it as his Directors Cut in interviews
Pandering: The Movie
Quite looking forward to seeing this one again.
I'm curious to see how the Extended Cut turns out, but I'm worried that even an R rated cut can't save this film.
I agree with Aark, what does this mean? there will be another future versión of this movie?

According to Snyder himself, some of the most outrageous scenes were left out even prior to the shooting, or shot but never finalized (meaning no CGI enhancements), and only a big box office success would have made financially possible to include those.
So, lacking the funding for a real "Director's Cut", this is just an "Extended Cut" with whatever was excised because of the MPAA or the control groups tests.

This didn't look like one of Zack Snyder's best films but I'll eventually check it out as a Blu-Ray rental.
I'll check out the extended edition even though I didn't like the theatrical version
Extended Cut? Are you kidding? This was bloated and terrible enough. There is no need for more!
I really wanted to see this movie, but none of my friends were interested in going. I'll definitely be getting this on Redbox to see how good (or bad) it is, since I heard very mixed reviews about it.
I thought this movie was pretty average. The visuals were outstanding, but that's it. There's no character. A convoluted story that in the end is just too much to take in, which ends up becoming uninteresting, and the movie loses its way. However, the extended cut does sound tempting. Hmm, might pick this one up.
I really enjoyed Sucker Punch. And, with an additional 18 minutes added only makes it better. It hopefully means more story, character development and action. And, let's hope they don't dub over Vanessa's F-bomb. Don't get me wrong, I don't need cursing in my films to enjoy them, but I loved that line and hope it's in its full glory in the blu-ray extended cut. Lastly, I like the cover, but I hope it's just a slipcover with the real pic underneath of all the girls.
i guess that new picture and updated info answers my question. lol
i love the extended cover, that was my wallpaper for the longest time. i bet had the movie been more successful, they woulda made a slipcover for each girl. but hoorah, it comes out the same day as the theatrical...i seriously was fearing the extended would come later on its own.

No extended cut on the standard DVD? the Hell WB?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, can it be salvaged by those 18mins?
I remain cynical, I will check it out before decrying it,(not the internet thing to do, I know), despite hating the theatrical cut.

so let me get this straight. their putting the extended cut on bluray & just theatrical on dvd? what kinda c**p is that? i loved the theatrical version yes but i was really hoping the extra mins would be released on dvd as well. that really makes me mad.
I'm gonna go ahead and call this and That Owl Movie (may as well be the title) the best Zack Snyder films. Are either of them particularly good? No, but they are the only two that weren't either butchering a classic comic or promoting racism/homophobia/intolerance of other religions and general doucheyness. I would've added "warmongering," but that theme follows through to these two films as well.
Still, they're enjoyable as f**k, and Sucker Punch--despite it's flaws, among which were the annoying/generic visuals that everyone seems to have loved--does have a relatively good message. Relatively, mind you. I'm not saying you should take the flick as a life lesson.

Yeah.
We can hope that one of major retailers will have an exclusive DVD, like what happened with "Terminator: Salvation" (Target offered a two disc set with the director's cut).

Awesome that the extended cut is coming out the same day as I will definitely get it. 18 minutes is a lot more substantial than most extended cuts.

but its pretty funny how quickly this is hitting home video..damn. dont get me wrong, i'm one of the few who loved this but its still funny and sorta sad. i figured a july/august release at the earliest. lol
Snyder mentioned during an early post-production interview that he was working on Blu-ray special features, so it's not really rushed. The special features for "Scott Pilgrim" were finished as it hit theatres and Snyder/Wright seem to be of the same detail-oriented ilk so things won't be so bad. Heck, the two films share the same initials and Snyder even wrote the artbook for "Sucker Punch". I wish Wright had an artbook for "Scott Pilgrim"...

I can't wait. I hope that the Blu-Ray's extended cut has everything I'm expecting in it. Movies like this are exactly why I now do Blu-ray.

That's funny, because, to me, "that Owl Movie" was by far the most insidious in that regard, with its manichean, mystical parable about a "just war" against the "evil ones".

I just noticed how unintentionally funny the blu-ray cover is, but really, that description sums up the movie so I guess it is appropriate.
