Widescreen, bro. I don't think they're making a fullscreen version.
Why do they also release a 1 disc edition and a 2-disc edition the same day. It's getting tiring. I pick up the 2-disc edition.
Can someone tell me if there going to do widescreen and full screen editions on the Superbad 1 disc edition. Because it doesn't say widescreen or full screen on the front cover.

Just as good as its predecessors. Lots of high-school d*ck jokes and stuff, but at its core, it's a good story about friendship.
How does this movie compare to its predeccesors (40 yr old virgin & Knocked up)?
Dbmeister is too busy watching his superior comedies, instead of Superbad... which is only for people who "take bong hits."
and by Superior comedies... I mean Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj
Its people like Dbmeister that are responsible for cinemas playing Stomp the Yard 2. In fact, I bet DBmeister is currently penning his own script for You Got Served 2: Wiggers on Ice.
DBmeister, you've been proven idiotic by countless people on here... for your immature, unsupported and offensive comments.

SECOND NOTICE: (First notice in post #89)
Whilst everyone is too focused on the flaming going on, I noticed that Seth Rogen's name is spelled wrong in the description, Tom. It isn't Seth Rogren, it's Seth Rogen.

Will get the 2 disc for sure. What a fun movie.

It's just becoming sad now, because all Da B-Meister is doing is taking what you're saying and throwing it back in your face. There's nothing new being added to all this, it's just repetitive and "in-your-face-camelcake".
Let's all play nice and leave the unoriginal emo kid alone.
I actually find it quite entertaining. Otherwise, I wouldnt have read all the way up until this point.

I totally agree with your retort. If you cant find any humor slightly, in Superbad... Then you've got to be a cinema snob to the max
On the other hand, you'd have to be idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies like this to have found humor in it.
i may be a pothead, but i'm smart enough to know that you worded that sentence like an idiot...and you have bad taste in movies.
i agree with the guys in the middle boxes
(the flick probably just hit a nerve with Da B-Meister because he drew penises on everything as a child...it's 2007 dude, that closet door is wide open- no one's gonna be mad)
Don't blame me because you enjoy that "lifestyle choice". Get yourself an education, kid. I worded that sentence just fine. You've got terrible taste in movies. (See, I can say that too.)
"you'd have to be idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies like this to have found humor in it" is what you wrote- "you'd have to be AN idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies like this to have found humor in it" is what you meant.
FYI - i am educated- in fact. i recently graduated from University...where i learned how to proof-read.
Way to misquote and then try and get me on "proof-reading". That's just sad. Oh yeah, and I think we all went to Harvard, didn't we? So that's nothing special.

Got to be the Two-disc. Slightly better art, and it's unrated!

sweet...2-disk unrated for me.
Whilst some people are making fools of themselves and distracting everyone else, I discovered a typo in the description, Tom. You have Seth Rogen's name listed as Seth Rogren. Drop the second 'r' man. :-)
Both covers are ok, but the Unrated thing has lost its luster lately. I see that there's only 3 minutes added to Knocked Up, so I'm betting there won't be much with this one. Single-disc Rated Widescreen edition for me (should I decide to get it).

Im confused. Who's supposed to be blaming who here? Werent YOU the douche who suggested that any fan of this film must be an "idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies"?
If there IS anyone here who indeed ENJOYS that "lifestyle," i doubt any one of them would have any reason to blame you for it. Or is it ordinary for one to blame another for their joy?
And i dont know if occasionally smoking weed can be categorized as a whole other lifestyle on its own. But then again, some cultures use weed to get more in touch with their spiritual side, or to achieve a more peaceful state of mind. Reach nirvana, blame Da B-Meister? Right.......

Ugh, I knew they'd screw us somehow. That 2-disc is nasty looking and there to cater to the people who can't live without having some McLovin on the cover. Oh well.
I really like both covers and I cannot wait to get this, it's the 2-Disc for me!
Why is "2-disc unrated extended edition" shown on the cover twice? That's really, really retarded.
However I'm going to buy this movie because everybody says it is terrific and it looked awesome.

hey guys, shut up. stop arguing.
i wonder how much long the unrated version will be. hopefully it's not like Knocked Up where they take funny parts out and add unfunny parts in. details anybody?
also: anyone ever notice "unrated" is always advertised in red?

JJ, I actually participated in this, and I left it alone at Chris' request (after throwing in what I consider to be a pretty good jab). I'm still coming back to this thread every so often to see if there's any new hilarity. The one from Marc Boggio is frickin' awesome... I'm noticing, though, that B-Meister's well seems to have dried up and is now just riding off of other people's comments. I guess we shall see...

I like the rated art. Hope they don't make the Unrated art too obnoxious. Maybe a simple Unrated above the title or beneath the title in simple lettering. But knowing the studios, not gonna happen. :-(

I can't wait to ask my mom for this one for Christmas! I haven't even seen it yet, and I loved it! I am McLovin!
SO glad they kept the poster art.

i mean the fonts and poster styles, the music in the trailer and commercials...i honestly thought this was some 1980s retro thing but apparently nope...its 2007 (or 2006 if they use the year of production) in the movie...odd..lol
anyway i havent see it yet so i cant comment on how bad or good it is but its a comedy (which isnt my type of movie), a comedy "everyone" loves which means its probably gonna be okay or suck just like the rest of the so called great comedies of the last 10yrs that "everyone" says is so awesome.
I wondered that myself until it was answered later on in the movie: Evan goes into his dad's closet and picks out some 70's clothes for he and Seth to wear to the party. That's the only thing I can think of.
And not to get into this, but CHUD and Da B-Meister, you BOTH are embarrassing yourselves. Take this petty argument to another board like AICN or IMDB.

How intelligent. No wonder you didn't like film.
You fail. Just as in life.
That's right, little fella....keep taking those bong hits, they're sure doing you good.

Cool! They're going to have the "Press Junket Meltdown" on it, which features "Hot Fuzz" director Edgar Wright... This looks like a proper Sony Home Entertainment special edition release. Thank GOD someone's doing this stuff right. Thanks for posting that stuff, da_hustla!

Oh, I know that, it'll probably be $22.99 at Best Buy and Circuit City, the first week. I just hate how DVDs have become!! It's c**p! It's those money grubbing b*****ds at the studios.

It'll be the two-disc for me.
Superbad was the funniest film this year, though I liked KNOCKED UP more as a whole.

YES!!!!!!
I liked this movie, but I don't want to buy a 2-disc version of it. I might have to though. If it's the only way you can get the unrated cut.
These the special features for the 2 disc unrated edition:
* Pineapple Express : Exclusive First Look
* Deleted & Extended Scenes
* Gag Reel
* Line-O-Rama
* Cop Car Confessions : A Ride Along with Clark County's Finest
* Making Of Superbad
* Original Table Read 2002 : Seth Rogen reads for the part of Seth
* Dancing Title Sequence
* Vag-tastic Voyage
* Cast Audition Footage
* Press Junket Meltdown
* The Music of Superbad
* Everybody Hates Michael Cera : The Unfortunate True Story
* On Set Diaries
* Snakes On Jonah Featurette
* Michael's Voicemails from Jonah
* TV Safe : Watch Jonah Hill try to record alternate safe lines appropriate for television
* Table Reads
* Optional audio commentaries by Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, Greg Mottola, Evan Goldberg, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera & Christopher Mintz-Plasse
A great movie that will have great features. A Must buy for me !!!

I totally agree with your retort. If you cant find any humor slightly, in Superbad... Then you've got to be a cinema snob to the max
On the other hand, you'd have to be idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies like this to have found humor in it.
"Well that's true, everybody knows that."

one of the best movies i have seen all year, most funniest thought it was funnier than knocked up. can't wait for unrated hope it's longer than knocked up. but i will defintely be picking the 2 disc of this as well as pirates that day
Oh, Vendetta, you just HAD to go there... YIKES! That was definitely a scarily funny scene - it's happened to a friend of mine. No kidding. It was probably one of the worst things I've ever seen, but we had a blast laughing at the guy...
And can everyone please calm down with the name-calling? I'm not a pothead, and I frickin' loved this movie. So by that rationale, does that make me an idiot? Look, some people like this stuff, and some people don't. Da B-meister obviously doesn't like it. So what? Sometimes, a good d*ck joke is just what the world needs. Not everyone who liked this movie smokes the weed, dude.
The differences between this and "American Pie" were:
1) Style of comedy. The Judd Apatow factory seems to like making people squirm in their seats from being uncomfortable. These qualities are evident in the awkwardness of Steven Karp from Apatow's short-lived show, "Undeclared"; the nerdiness of Andy from "The 40 Year Old Virgin"; and "Knocked Up" was just uncomfortable all the way around. The movies he's associated with generally pick something that won't sit right with you - be it a gawky teenager trying to get drunk in order to whack off a piece or a stoner learning how to properly father a child.
2) "American Pie"'s characters, to me, at least, were kind of hard to identify with. I was never the jock, and I never had this bloodthirsty quest to get laid. By bringing it down to the level of two guys trying to be cool just by bringing alcohol to a party, I think everyone can identify with doing that one thing in high school that's going to elevate you in the eyes of your peers. The characters in "Superbad" evoked my sympathy a whole hell of a lot more than those in "American Pie".
3) "Pie", to me, was just "Porky's" all over again. And the fact that teen-sex comedies had died out in the 80's made "Pie" seem fresh, when in actuality, it had all been done before. There's only so many ways you can skin a cat, I guess. "Superbad" was great, because, without spoiling too much, the outcomes were not exactly what was expected, yet you got a sense of hope for these three losers. To me, the kids from "Pie" were just spoiled.
4) "Pie" was more in-your-face about its humor and wit, as a result of the Kevin Williamson (writer of "Scream" and "The Faculty") revolution of the late '90's - all these movies suddenly started having more sharp and biting wit to them. From "Scream" started a whole new genre of writing, where everything would get self-referential and poke fun of itself during the proceedings. "Superbad"'s writing a little drier, a little less funny-for-funny's sake and more just situational.
5) And any movie about a fat guy trying to get with a hot chick always gives me a glimmer of hope.
Just my thoughts.

No, only a humourloss idiot (you) would not enjoy this movie.
Going by your name, I guess this movie didn't have enough black actors and hip-hop in it for you.
Looks like I was right.....just take a few hits off your new bong, did you?

Jeez, Knocked Up was way funnier than this. I liked the first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes but man, the middle hour dragged! That said, I'll consider picking up the 2-disc edition down the road when it hits the bargain bin.
It was funny, but not THAT funny.
I hated McLovin.
I hated McLovin.
I'm not paying 25 dollars for the 2-disc, I guess I will wait for a price drop.

Why does everyone say it's so "original?" I found that it has the EXACT SAME PLOT as "American Pie!" AAAAAAAAAGH!!!!! Someone, back me up. I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!!!!!!!!
By Far The Funniest Sex Comedy Since 40 year old virgin{ which is greatest sex comedy of ALL TIME}... Not as good as Knocked Up but great film

This movie was vile, outrageous, and absolutely fantastic! I just loved this movie and I can't wait for the 2-Disc unrated dvd.
i am so buying this
two many different versions for one movie.
p.s. yeah, i saw it and loved it.
p.s. yeah, i saw it and loved it.
I got a free movie ticket from Best Buy to see this. Since all of my friends were either busy, broke, or fresh away to college, I went to see this by myself (first time ever doing that) on a boring Thursday day. I was the only one in the theater through the previews, but then a whopping 2 other people showed up and laughed about as hard as I did all throughout the film.
I really enjoyed this movie, but I'm undecided whether I would want to buy it or not. I don't think it will be as good if I watch it a second time. I'll probably ask my dad to NetFlix it, watch it with him, and then I'll decide if I'll buy it or not after it goes down to $10 later next year.
My favorite comedy this year is still Hot Fuzz.

Again, another funny movie coming the "Judd Apatow factory" (he only produced this movie). I'll be buying the 2 disc unrated version.
After HATING "Knocked Up", I think I'll rent this one first and judge for myself. (Millions of dollars doesn't mean a good movie.)
it was McLovin.
I am McLovin! Think I'll ask for this one for Christmas.
What up gangsta's?
Very funny movie and very much this generations Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Porky's. Definitely worth a rent and a bowl of popcorn for those who missed it. My feeling is that when movies like this fail to make you laugh or touch your soul in some way that evokes the painfulness of teenage angst then that's when you've grown old. Thankfully, it hasn't even begun to happen to me.
McLovin it!

good stuff. the release of all these great apatow productions really puts all those pitiful, self-proclaimed "r-rated comedies with heart" to shame (ahem, kevin smith).
Superbad??? More like Superawesome! (sorry...someone had to make that joke...)
On an unrelated note, I hope that they would put "Clark and Michael" webisotes as extras on the DVD as well.

Hilarious. 2 Disc for me.
This movie was hilarious to say the least. The only people that probably don't like this movie.....are the 8% of kids that like to draw giant di**s and then hide the drawings in a Ghostbusters lunch box treasure chest.

Self-reviewing

Looked very funny.
Never saw it but kinda want to. Looks pretty funny. Might rent it at some point.
This was definately the best movie I watched all summer and by far the funniest movie of the year so far. I will definately be picking this one up.
Idiotic and utterly devoid of anything remotely amusing.
Hilarious, don't know if I'll buy it though.
Great flick. Can't wait to buy this one!
Easily the funniest movie of the year. Can't wait to purchase this DVD.
I wanted to see this but never got around to it. I guess I'll blind-buy it.
