Why does everyone say it's so "original?" I found that it has the EXACT SAME PLOT as "American Pie!" AAAAAAAAAGH!!!!! Someone, back me up. I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with your retort. If you cant find any humor slightly, in Superbad... Then you've got to be a cinema snob to the max
On the other hand, you'd have to be idiot pot-head who enjoys unfunny c**p movies like this to have found humor in it.
No, only a humourloss idiot (you) would not enjoy this movie.
Going by your name, I guess this movie didn't have enough black actors and hip-hop in it for you.

I'm not paying 25 dollars for the 2-disc, I guess I will wait for a price drop.
It was funny, but not THAT funny.
I hated McLovin.

Jeez, Knocked Up was way funnier than this. I liked the first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes but man, the middle hour dragged! That said, I'll consider picking up the 2-disc edition down the road when it hits the bargain bin.

Looks like I was right.....just take a few hits off your new bong, did you?

Freaking loved the film, my number 2 of the year. Will be buying it the moment it comes out on DVD.
Man this was one of the funniest movies EVER! PERIOD!
Version 1 wrote: Man this was one of the funniest movies EVER! PERIOD!As long as it's not period blood. ; )
Oh, Vendetta, you just HAD to go there... YIKES! That was definitely a scarily funny scene - it's happened to a friend of mine. No kidding. It was probably one of the worst things I've ever seen, but we had a blast laughing at the guy...
And can everyone please calm down with the name-calling? I'm not a pothead, and I frickin' loved this movie. So by that rationale, does that make me an idiot? Look, some people like this stuff, and some people don't. Da B-meister obviously doesn't like it. So what? Sometimes, a good d*ck joke is just what the world needs. Not everyone who liked this movie smokes the weed, dude.
The differences between this and "American Pie" were:
1) Style of comedy. The Judd Apatow factory seems to like making people squirm in their seats from being uncomfortable. These qualities are evident in the awkwardness of Steven Karp from Apatow's short-lived show, "Undeclared"; the nerdiness of Andy from "The 40 Year Old Virgin"; and "Knocked Up" was just uncomfortable all the way around. The movies he's associated with generally pick something that won't sit right with you - be it a gawky teenager trying to get drunk in order to whack off a piece or a stoner learning how to properly father a child.
2) "American Pie"'s characters, to me, at least, were kind of hard to identify with. I was never the jock, and I never had this bloodthirsty quest to get laid. By bringing it down to the level of two guys trying to be cool just by bringing alcohol to a party, I think everyone can identify with doing that one thing in high school that's going to elevate you in the eyes of your peers. The characters in "Superbad" evoked my sympathy a whole hell of a lot more than those in "American Pie".
3) "Pie", to me, was just "Porky's" all over again. And the fact that teen-sex comedies had died out in the 80's made "Pie" seem fresh, when in actuality, it had all been done before. There's only so many ways you can skin a cat, I guess. "Superbad" was great, because, without spoiling too much, the outcomes were not exactly what was expected, yet you got a sense of hope for these three losers. To me, the kids from "Pie" were just spoiled.
4) "Pie" was more in-your-face about its humor and wit, as a result of the Kevin Williamson (writer of "Scream" and "The Faculty") revolution of the late '90's - all these movies suddenly started having more sharp and biting wit to them. From "Scream" started a whole new genre of writing, where everything would get self-referential and poke fun of itself during the proceedings. "Superbad"'s writing a little drier, a little less funny-for-funny's sake and more just situational.
5) And any movie about a fat guy trying to get with a hot chick always gives me a glimmer of hope.
Just my thoughts.

I liked this movie, but I don't want to buy a 2-disc version of it. I might have to though. If it's the only way you can get the unrated cut.
YES!!!!!!
It'll be the two-disc for me.
Superbad was the funniest film this year, though I liked KNOCKED UP more as a whole.

Seriously, studios should just go back to the good days of DVD when there was only 1 edition released....and make it the 2-disc!!! Jeez!!! DVD has really gone down the toilet! Just wait a few months then the price will halve - although you should never take heed of the listed price anyway...
Oh, I know that, it'll probably be $22.99 at Best Buy and Circuit City, the first week. I just hate how DVDs have become!! It's c**p! It's those money grubbing b*****ds at the studios.

Cool! They're going to have the "Press Junket Meltdown" on it, which features "Hot Fuzz" director Edgar Wright... This looks like a proper Sony Home Entertainment special edition release. Thank GOD someone's doing this stuff right. Thanks for posting that stuff, da_hustla!

guys I just took 25 bong hits and now I'm posting comments on DVD Active.
How many people want to bet that "Da B-Meister" is, like, fifteen and has some serious issues? Let's all play nice and leave the little troll alone. And speaking of "American Pie", I thought that names ending in "-Meister" stopped being popular with that movie... Go be "manly" by slagging people on another board, B. It's not very nice to do it here.

No matter how many times you ask, troll, I'm not going to make love to you.

Sorry, Meister. I don't like guys with sand in their vaginas that can only overcompensate by slagging people on message boards anonymously.

Once again it's necessary to remind people that this isn't AICN. Please give the petty insults a rest.

Is that all you can do. Make bong hit jokes? Seriously, you're making a complete fool of yourself. Your screen name is bad enough without you making it worse with your ignorance.
How much you want to bet this tool is a 30 year old virgin who hates weed 'cause no one ever offers him any?
Pathetic loser.

C.H.U.D., I like where your head's at, but Chris brought up a good point. Let's just leave the troll alone.
where is the art work for the flick
