Who are you referring to Poppy, and what are you talking about???
GAY!! Your taking the piss.. Maybe you should change the company you keep.. I dont know ANY self respecting gay who would watch this s**t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back cover added...
Best part was Brenda Vaccaro's screams at the end, unintentionaly hilarious. Rotten acting from all due to lackadaisical direction.
I'm sorry, but Supergirl is a very gay movie.
I'll stick with my 2 disc edition thanks!
This is a guilty pleasure of mine - I might pick it up just for the camp value of Faye Dunaway alone.
This has always been a movie I had mixed feeling about. The first time I watched it on VHS, I heard how utterly bottom of the barrel terrible it was, so it ended up not being so bad for me (since I was expecting the worst of the worst). When I picked up my 2 disk version a few years ago, I watched it, hoping to enjoy it again, and did not so much.
I do not like the new cover. I do not like the SR logo being used with this. It just don't go there. I will be sticking with my 2disk version.

I already have the 2 Disc Limited Edition so there's no reason for me to pick this one up.

She was my first crush too, mainly from "The Legend of Billie Jean" that played on HBO all the time back in the 80s.

I do. I always liked it, and it's a lot better than "Superman 3" and "4" are.
I agree with you on this! I have the Anchor Bay version but will probably rebuy this one as well.

I would have got it if it were included in the boxset with Superman II: The Donner Cut. Why that one was left out of the collection still puzzles me. At least the R2 set will include it.
This film is utterly dreadful, as I remember my cousin and I saw it theatrically in 1984. We got home and made fun of it for hours, no, days, no, weeks! I foolishly bought the Anchor Bay director cut, which I've since pawned for $1.00, I was lucky to get that for this piece of flying c**p.Horrible acting and dialogue, good flying effects though, not enough to save this mess. The Salkinds have no business producing a t.v. commercial, let alone a feature film, they're completely inept. Thanks to Richard Donner, the first 2 Superman films were great. Once those complete idiots fired him the films went downhill fast, though I do like Superman III for some reason. Thank god Donner's Superman II is FINALLY seeing the light of day. That is the only Superman film anyone should buy Nov. 28th. Superman Returns was not an homage, but an insult to those who loved the orignial Reeve films. The Brando footage was nothing new, just in Returns we SEE him say the same dialogue we HEARD him say in Superman:The Movie. And were my eyes playing tricks on me or did Brandon Routh show his you no what in Returns, in that rip off scene of him returning to Earth the same we he came to Earth in the original as a baby. I know Bryan Singer's gay but come on, that was kinda tacky to me, as was the whole stupid film.

Actually I beg to differ - I can understand that US audiences who got the short version didn't like it. But I grew up watching the international cut and as a kid it at least kept me entertained. I thought the director's cut was even better and that was the version they should have released worldwide.
Anyway the only way I would buy this new release is if it was the original US theatrical cut just because I'd like to have all three versions on DVD! So if they're just re-treading what Anchor Bay did and slapping an ugly cover on it... well they're not getting my money!

Let's all hope for the best.
Maybe after all of the Superman realeses, I may pick this up, if it's cheap enough.

God I really hope they do revise the artwork for the SR discs! and as for Supergirl I remember liking it when I was young.. don't think i've seen it since. So maybe i'll get it as a nostalgic thing and I love everything Superman
Though not the best movie, still, I have a special place in my viewing heart for this film.
What the bloody hell is wrong with Warner Bros! These covers are absolutely pathetic!

Dammit, I thought they were revising the art for the DVD... Any chance of it happening, Mal?
Unfortunately we got hold of the information a little too early and as a result we have pulled it offline until it can be officially approved.
What is that?
Speaking of the Superman movies, whatever happened to the press release and the cover art for "Superman Returns"? (It was there a few hours ago.) Is Warner actually revising the covers?
I hope so...

Isn't this identical to the R2 disc that came out in June in pretty much every way bar the ratings logos?
Gosh Warner, you keep putting out c**ppy cover art at a record pace. Is anyone planning on actually buying this, anyway?
I hate the cover
I presume that commentary is ported over from the Anchor Bay International version, which I have. No need to pick this up.
I have the 2 disk internationl version.....I liked the directors cut

This disc will have the 124-minute international cut of the film.

I'd hit it, 80's style!
Seriously, that cover is uglier than the ones for the Christopher Reeve Superman re-releases and Superman Returns. Can't studios see the relative simplicity of using poster art for their DVD covers?
Not to mention Helen Slater's face looks extremely airbrushed and this rush job puts Photoshop to shame.

That's a man's face on the cover, right? It sure looks that way to me. Very, very odd...
my god what happened?....it doesnt look like her at all on the cover of even the disc art...and the disc art actually looks like a different girl than the cover..lol
Pretty that she was. Fake that she was. 1# she was a brunette. 2# costume enhancements. Granted they surely made supergirl one attractive alien.
As mentionned above, the cover art reflects the movie. All that talent, horrible plot.
If you'd ask me they should have had a cameo with Chris Reeve, perfect set up for Superman 5. Having finally captured Superman in a cage of Kryptonite, Lex ( Gene Hackman) is oblivious as is Superman of the existance of his cousin. Then make a sequel ending with SuperGirl on a movie of her own.
I know 20 years too late....!

Yes I agree, the artwork is horribly photoshopped. Where do the studios find these people? And why do they allow them to get away with such poor quality work?
Man, Peter O'Toole and Faye Dunaway must've really needed the money. Not to mention Mia Farrow, Brenda Vacarro and Peter Cook.
You'd think with that much talent wandering around, and an incredibly beautiful girl who was born to wear that costume, they would've gotten soemething even accidentally right!
But sadly, NO!!! This movie is horrible! I had to laugh out loud when Anchor Bay released that two-disc set four years ago with a "Director's Cut". Fourteen minutes of more c**p is just that; more c**p.

OMG that artwork stinks! If you were lucky enough to get the Anchor Bay 2-disc, there is really no need for this.
Oh yes. I loved this movie so I'm getting this when it comes out!
I'll definitely get this! I missed out on it last time when it went out of print. It's not that great but I look at it as just a regular 80s fantasy movie than really a Superman spinoff/superhero movie.
Superman franchise should all get face lifts to their cover art. Wow, a 6th year old has better imagination of what the cover arts could be. Don't ge me wrong, Photoshop is great. But isn't their budget worth more than these silly artworks??
Actually I really like the Supergirl movie but I already have the Anchor Bay limited edition 2-disc set so I can't really see any reason to buy this - not to mention they've made the cover art on this (and the other four Superman movies) look really cheap - okay they're priced low but would it hurt to make them look nice too?
Well, it was better than Superman Returns - but that's not saying much.
WOW! Who wants this movie?
