I want to get this for BLURAY as I dont have the original. But is the BLURAY version really that bad from the original DVD version thats out already???
Definite pick up for me. I never bothered to pick up the other version.
I was happy to finally see the death of superman story adapted to the screen...even if it wasn't all that great. The death of superman comics weren't all that great either, after going back and reading them.
But yeah, there's no reason to double dip on this. I don't think I'll ever watch the copy I have again, unless I have kids eventually.
And yeah, mask of the phantasm definately needs a 2-disc release, and I'd like to see it with both the original 4:3 aspect ratio, and the "widescreen" they released in theaters by cropping it.

I already have the first dvd release with the lenticular cover. Now, I love Superman but I'll have to think really hard about getting this new edition, even with all the new features. It would be really great if this new edition had the lenticular cover as well !

I got the original release, I am happy with that. I would love to see what this type of animation looks likes in HD.
I 4th the request for a 2-disk Batman: Mask of the Phantasm!!
This was better than that dump Bryan Singer took a few years back. If he made this movie, it would've been a huge hit.

I guess you can't release the blu-ray version thought without re-doing the dvd or someone who is still a dvd buyer will be upset because this release has new stuff that the original never had even if it isn't much.
yeah, thats the price of this digital video medium...constant double, triple dippings, whether they're warranted or not.

granted i didnt pay and saw it on tv but i liked it enough that i'll buy the blu-ray. also i've never read the comic series this is based on so i dont really know how off they were so i can enjoy it more i guess. lol
People like it but we are all whining that it is being re-released when it just originally came out this year.

speaking of DC animated, that Batman Subzero movie was on tv last night, its already 11yrs old....man i'm old..lol
Aside from the pretty cool fight between Superman & Doomsday, the entire rest of the movie is incredibly lame. You can even catch the best part of the movie (that fight) multiple times on YouTube right now, without having to buy the rest of it. This was almost as weak an animated comic book movie as "Mask of the Phantasm".

Terminal wrote: Great movie, but can anyone tell me what the difference is between this and the previous release aside from the Wonder Woman trailer?Probably nothing? Four eps of the Superman animated series perhaps? I don't know, but I'd say it seems like filler and that it is designed to be slightly better but not better enough to enrage anyone, as indeed the two-disc seems mainly to just support the BD release.

Um... why???
did anyone ask for this? man...i blame fat trekkies..
I originally didn't want to see it, and I'm still thinking whether I should see it or not.
'Mask of the Phantasm' could use the two-disc treatment.
I think I am happy enough with the original release.
Um... is there ANYTHING new on there? And this doesn't have that "Requiem and Rebirth" thing... what are they doing here?
They are only releasing the 2 disc because of the blu-ray.
Waste of money
What's the difference between this edition and the previous one?
That's pretty shifty of them.
lame!
