This is great news, I've been waiting to see these for quite some time now. I'm glad both are being released in one collection unlike the Batman serials. The Saturdays With Superman featurette looks interesting but Look Up In The Sky! exerpts could have been left off. It's a pointless extra to me since I already own the Look Up In The Sky! DVD. I like the box art but I like the style of the Batman serial discs more.
man, Warner Bros. wasn't kidding, huh? the year of superman, indeed.
WB rules.

Just when I decided to start getting the George Reeves television show, I though I was on the tail end of finishing my Superman DVD collection. I will be getting these, it has been decades since I have seen any of them, and have never seen all of them.
Now, (again) where is my Superboy Season 2?

Grr! is WB purposely trying to AVOID releasing info on Superman Returns or Cover Art for the Reeve releases! No offense to fans of these, but those old Superman shows/movies are really not my thing.
I can't wait to see how WB butchered the Superman Returns cover art. God I really hope they don't and just use one of the many theatrical posters! So many awful cover art for new movies nowadays!

Is this the one where he turns into a cartoon when he flies off?
Yes, this is the serials where he flies in cartoon form. Kind of hoaky sounding, but in the day, was the only way they could find to adequately show him flying.
Yes, that's what this is, alrighty. I don't like either serial very much, as much as I love serials. The second one is better than the first, and has Lyle Talbot (Commissioner Gordon in the 1949 BATMAN & ROBIN serial) as Lex Luthor.
I love the cover art.... It is going to be in my collection
puts into perspective how old the whole Superman thing is. goddamn
why the color Superman for a B/W show? they pulled this c**p on 12 Angry Men and probably 60% of other B/W movies or shows. is color really that enticing? is it like the deciding factor for people looking to buy filmed entertainment? cut the c**p Warner Brothers, this is bulls**t.

Not true at all. See DARKEST AFRICA (1936), THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL (1941), or KING OF THE ROCKET MEN (1949) to see how serial heroes (and villains) could "fly" realistically. SUPERMAN producer Sam Katzman opted for the animated flights because it was cheaper. Both serials suffer greatly for it.

First off, that splash of color will catch many peoples eyes, which is what a DVD cover should do. Secondly black and white covers are not very pretty nor eye catching MOST OF THE TIME
