Well, the TV version of Superman III contained all of the deleted scenes featured on the disc. When watching it all together, it makes for a better movie. When it premiered on TV in the UK, ITV played the extended version, and we came to know it inside and out. It's a pity that they didn't spring for the restoration of the clips and give the option of watching it in the superior cut.

Not as far as I'm aware, but for £23.99 I don't see the harm in buying the lot.
Are they being released individually as well? I don't want 3 & 4.
I was going to, but I'm holding out (slim) hope for a review copy.
Looking forward to this and ordered from Sainsburys for £23.99

Press releases hardly ever mention technical specs, but it will almost certainly be the same as the US release.
What about audio??
