I was wondering does Superman have any deleted scene section, the last release had only two, and there were many more TV ran were any of these scenes included in the new 4 disc set besides what is restored?

Just pre-ordered this. Can't wait to get it.
What are the 5 posters to send away for. I can see 3 but what are the other 2. Is the Superman Returns floating over the earth included?

But this is.. $99.....DAMN! Thats expensive.....or is it?.?.?
Hmmm, Not really, 2 disc superm returns will be at least $23.99 the first week.... then the donner cut $19.99, 4 disc superman 1, $24.99-$29.99, then 2,3,4 at least $19.99 each, PLus the $10 superman documentary. So well over $150 worth for $100 and I am sure you'll be able to get it best buy/Target for $80 the first week. So thats less then $7-8 a disc

oh and for region 4 people I know there is the same set in a tin lacking one documentry so a total of 13 discs in Australia saw it at Ezy canceled that order to get this region 1
they have all the cartoons, half on the SMI, and the other half on SMII

100 dollars is cheap for a set of this magnitude, as the 8 disc Batman set was 80 bucks when it first came out, that's 6 discs more for just 20 bucks extra.

According to the Supermancinema website at http://www.supermancinema.co.uk/daily_planet/dv... the 3 additonal documentaries you mentioned will also be included on the U.S. releases on Disc 12. So, really the U.S. 14-disc version is the best value for your money.
I sincerely hope you're right! =P
Cus every other place I've been checking fails to mention the three documentaries I'd REALLY like to see attached to the set!
Thanks for the heads up though, you've probably just saved me enough money to grab another DVD that month

Fortunately, my copy of "Look up in the sky!" was purchased @ Futureshop which made it a 2 disc limited edition that contained a 2nd disc with all of Bryan's Journals anyways.
So I'm sorta leaning more towards the Region 4 edition- -...Especially since the art work for it also seems to be more Christopher Reeves oriented than the Region 1.
If that's the case, I may go for the R4 release as well (if it's not too much more). I have the 2-disc LE that I got from Best Buy so I already have the video diaries.
Edit: Nevermind, looked at the price at Ezydvd and that alone is $180US, I know it'll be cheaper elsewhere, but I doubt by much. I think I'll just pay the $70-80 at Best Buy...

hi guys. hope ur all well. Long time viewer, first time poster. I was wondering if the films in this Ultimate collection will have RCE on them?? When I searched on playusa it lists the previous versions as having RCE (S:TM Spec Ed and Superman II). I am seriously interested in importing this collection but I would like to be sure that its safe to do so. Any help or info on this would be great. Thanks very much.
So so horny

They did indeed include them all. The final 8 done under "Famous Studios" are on the Second "Superman II" disk, along with a brand new documentary about the making of all 17! :-D

Maybe this is why Warner did such a despicable job with the individual movie releases, just so that we'd buy this awesome set.

I was going to buy my brother the Christopher Reeve's 8-disc set for Christmas. But, hey, screw that. Now that there's this 14 disc collection with all the Superman movies, I'm buying him this one. He bought part 1 and 2 individually when they got on the Wal-Mart shelves when Superman Returns came to theaters. But, he'll still like this set even if it has those two in it. I might even feel generous and buy the Supergirl dvd to go with it for him. Heck, I might even have to buy me this set as well. Can't wait.
Oh my god!!!! This is set for me!!!! I am so happy..... freaking awesome artwork!!!
EGAD!!
This is a very cool set, but there will be more new Bryan Singer sequels in the near future. One day there will be a monstrous set released...but people probably can't wait that long.

Expensive? In terms of DVD pricing, this is a steal. Ordinarily you'd spend $20 each on the DVD's seperately, maybe a few bucks cheaper at places like Best Buy on the first week. So, 6 movies would run you the route of $120. Take into the account that the SRP is $99.92, you can expect that Best Buy will be able to afford to sell it for much cheaper. $80 tops at Best Buy.
OK, but I'm not that spree-happy with DVDs. Should make a great Christmas present if announced for R2.

wow. that is a great collectors box. why weren't the DVD cases this good? I think that is a fair price too, for what you are getting. as stated before, many single DVD's alone are around 20 bucks. so this is a steal. I still think the actual DVD covers were pretty stale and unimaginative, but this full collectors box was spot on. I will have to think about this one.
OH... MY... GOD!!! THIS IS SUCH A SWEET SET! I`ll be all over this. Can`t wait for the 28th of November :D :D

I committed hard core to only buying "Superman II", "Superman II - The Donner Cut" and "Superman Returns"... THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! I already own "Look, Up In The Sky" too, but who cares! This is the best Box set I have ever seen produced.
My only complaint (and it's a BIG one) is that "Superman III" is not having it's picture cleaned up and remastered, nor it's sound remixed into 5.1 Dolby Digital. That is bad, very bad. "Superman III" is loved by the fans, and was VERY financially successful for WB. So why the slight? We all understand why they are not doing anything for "Superman IV" (does ANYONE like that film?) But to slight "Superman III" like this, tarnishes this whole box set, and does not make it 'complete' the way the fans want.
I am all ready to hear people say "They finally announce the box set, and people are STILL not happy!" There is no excuse or reason for not remastering the video and audio for the third film. It is just not acceptable. we might as well hold onto the 2001 release and get the ones we need individually then... If they do the box set the way fans want it, we will buy it regardless of the price. At least that is my stance. I prefer the box over the individual DVD's - if done right!

Looks like this is the way to buy the films!
MEMDB, not only does it contain Returns and extra disks, but it also contains both versions of Superman II. Beyond that, the swag for this set also steps it up a notch too (as far as I know, there is no swag included with the Reeve collection).
I will be honest, I'm a sucker for swag. That is the way to sucker me in. Give me something I can't otherwise attain.

Knew this would turn up eventually. It'll cost a fortune to import this sucker, but I'm there all the same. Big fan of the first two films, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Donner cut. I also enjoyed SR for what it was, although Superman III and IV are a bit lame.
Actually it was all including Superman II: Richard Donner Cut and Superman Returns except Supergirl. It was f***ing insane. Thank you WB!!!
SWEET, This set is AMAZING. I love the Ed McGuiness drawing of superman on the booklet. I think he is the BEST superman comic books artist ever. This tin is gonna be so cool. GREAT job Warner Bros.

Clavius wrote: Why even bother releasing that other abortion of a box set when this will be on the market? AWESOME!
That other box is specifically called the Christopher Reeve collection so presumably they're aiming that at people who just want the original films and not the new Bryan Singer one. Plus that other boxset will be $20 cheaper so will probably get more casual purchases coming up to the festive season.
Anyway the more I think about it I really wish they could throw Supergirl on there and make it a 15-disc set (I know I'm getting greedy)! That film is firmly set in the world of the Salkind movies and it's certainly a lot better than Superman IV!
That aside I can't wait to get this set - and getting Bryan Singer's video diary is an unexpected surprise. I didn't buy the Amazing Story of Superman DVD because I knew it was going to be in the boxset but I was gutted when I found out that Best Buy had done an exclusive video diary DVD with it!
Plus the Superman II special features disc has a new featurette on the Fleischer cartoons!
Can you tell I'm excited about this boxset - thank you Warner Bros!

I am also quite glad they didn't include Supergirl as I have the 2 disc LE and didn't want to sell it. Makes sense though. The only other drag is when a new superman film comes out, it will have to be bought seperately, but that is only a little problem. This set is to sweet.
About frickin' time they announced this! So this has everything that is being made available seperately except for the Supergirl DVD - right?
Slightly upset that I won't get the posters (as I'm in the UK but will be buying the US release) but I can't complain as this set definately gives me enough reasons to pick it up even though I'm double-dipping on a lot of it!
Also anyone know what that Superman Returns newspaper thing is in the picture?

Looking at both the Christopher Reeves Box Set of the Superman movies, and The Ultimate Collection which one is better? Is it this one because it contains Superman Returns and extra discs?
Wow. This is amazingly beautiful box set and it goes way beyond anything I could have imagined WB to come up with.
I only had plans to purchases Superman, Superman 2 and Superman Returns but I'm on for this collection. The real hook, line and sinker for me besides the artwork is the Amazing Story documentary.

So, it has Superman 78, Superman II (both versions), plus III and IV and Returns and all the documentaries. Cause, wow, I'm there, and it's only $100! Wow, that's about how much I was probably going to spend just on Returns, The Movie and The Donner Cut of II. But if I can get that much more for only a few bucks extra than I'm definitly there.
See the response something CLASSY is getting from people here Warner Brothers if you are reading.
Holy. C**p. Now THAT'S more like it Warner Brothers. Now I see why you've made the artwork for the seperate films so c**ppy - so people will buy this instead. And I'm sorely tempted.

Screw the Reeves set, this one is damn nice! I'll be picking this one up, for sure! (That sucky artwork is nowhere to be found, instead its been replaced by CLASS). Classy artwork....
I was thinking about getting that Christopher Reeve set with it's ugly artwork, but this monstrosity blows that set away big time!! This is my 2006 Holiday "must buy"
Thank you Warner Brothers for doing something smart for a change!

Well, after reading all the comments from American DVDActive readers complaining that we Australians were getting the uber-set and they weren't... looks like you get a mail-in poster offer (which Australia definitely won't get as we didn't get the King Kong 1933 offer of a similar nature) and a 14th disc with Bryan Singer's video journal for Superman Returns. I guess I better see if I can still download the Superman Returns video journals from that website.
Great looking box set, both the actual artsey cover, and the actual box. They both look amazing.
Thank you very much Warner for giving us a good COMPLETE superman box set. They definitely have my $ this time. I wasn't gonna buy all the individual releases buti will gladly fork over between 60-75 bucks on this release which looks to be wonderful.
Very very cool. Can't wait to get those.

Why? Did you like any of them? If you didn't like any of them, I don't see why you should waste space on your shelf with movies you don't like. Even though the set is uber-cool with its tin packaging.

Looks like a great set. November 28th is a great day for Superman fans

Oh I am all over this one. Yessssss
HOLY COW! That is an awesome set, at a pretty damn awesome price. It'll be around $70 at Best Buy, I'm sure.
Wow, great way to make up for all the sucky artwork we've been getting for these films. This looks fantastic.
wow mr. collateral was right.
this will be a great gift for true superman fans. I just need the first two movies and "returns" so I'll have to reluctantly pass on this

I have already sent my benjamin packing! Warner will get my money on this beauty no doubt.
me not like Superman.
But I have to agree that the set looks great.
I would love to see BoBoi face when he'll see this

Oh my god. That's the coolest things I've ever seen. I was originally just going to get S:TM, SII: Donner's Cut, and Superman Returns, but I might have to rethink that. I don't really much care for SII and SIII, and the original SII, but the box is just awesome, and it even comes with the Look Up in the Sky documentary I didn't buy.
Decisions. Decisions.
Decisions. Decisions.
Holy S**t. I'm so in.
Bring this to HD DVD and I am there otherwise.. meh
I don't even like these movies and I'm tempted by this.
