Like the Blu-ray artwork better, the "I WILL FIND YOU, I WILL KILL YOU" isn't really necessary though.

Good. I was hoping we'd get an extended cut. This movie, except for the action, was pretty bad. But the fighting was some of the best kick ass action I've seen in awhile, and for that, it's worth picking up.
This has become one of those sleeper hits of 2009. IMDB has a listing for a untitled Taken sequel.
Despite the dvdrip online from the UK it was still a major success in box office receipts in the U.S
Sure, it didn't have a great story like the Bourne trilogy or the amazing production value of a 007 flick but the action was amazing and at least you could see what was going on. It's really a take no c**p and to the point kind of movie and I really liked that. They had to trim the violence to reach the stupid PG-13 rating but I hope this extended cut is the uncut Euro version because I'm hearing only good things about it. Fingers crossed!!!
Loved this movie. I cannot wait to own this and watch it over and over again. It was such a great action ride. And the story was great, and simple. The movie made no excuses for what it was. It was an action movie.
It was good, but overrated. It's just your standard action movie. And I saw the UK version. It doesn't seem like they'd have had to cut too much for a PG-13 rating.
I like the white dvd cover better, but will pick up the blu-ray for sure. This wasn't bad popcorn flick.
I liked this film way more than any Bourne film.
Excellent movie. And the Blu art is fantastic.
Mom said your job made you paranoid," Kim says to her father as he's driving her to LAX for the flight to France. "My job made me aware," Bryan corrects her.
This was a standard actioner that contained a very good and personal performance by the lead actor (sorry to hear about the recent death of his wife, though). It moved quickly and had exceptional fight sequences--kudos to Mick Gould and his fighting style (Shinsai Goshin Kai) to help make them so.
The DVD (white background) is okay, but I preferred the BD cover (black background) better--it's closer to the original US release poster and I thought it looked best.

This is a good movie but I won't be buying the dvd. Because we all know how Fox screws up with the so called 2 disc special edition. Judging by the already released Region 2 dvd of this movie, I'm pretty sure that this how the 2 disc dvd will play out:
DISC 1 -
. Theatrical cut of the film
. Extended cut of the film (just a couple of minutes more, nothing major !)
. Audio commentary with Pierre Morel & Michael Abramowicz & Michel Julienne
. Making Of featurette (18 min 22 sec)
. Footage of the Paris premiere (4 min 35 sec)
. Storyboard comparisons (11 min 04 sec)
. Trailers for lots of other films but not this one !!!
DISC 2 -
. The one and only : Digital copy of the movie (most useless feature ever
put in the dvd business !)
So here you go. Give or take one or two new features for the region 1 and the fact that some features will be exclusive to blu ray dvd only. In the end, another so called special edition 2 disc dvd that is anything but special. Thanks but no thanks !!!!!!!!!

Thats some bad cover art, but I like the Blu-Ray art. I bought my UK import, but i'll also buy the Blu-Ray of this.

LOVE the blu ray art. They better not change it!! So glad its the extended cut. Better be the cut they released all over the world but US.
Missed this in the theater. Guess I'll blind-buy.....
Saw it and loved it.
My theory on why it did so well: For years all these movies kept coming out with teenagers and young adults dying:"Hostel" for example. Finally a movie comes out with a parent going to war to save his kid. A switch that lead to parents and their kids seeing it.
So box-office delight was had by those involved.

Favorite film of the short year so far (though make no mistake, I have no illusions of it still holding that mantle by the end of the year)...Say what you want about it, but I still think it's the best Luc Besson film in well over a decade, and it's mostly due to Liam. I don't think there's a single film I've ever seen him in that's not elevated to some extent due to his presence in the cast. Can't wait to see his take on Honest Abe in Spielberg's Lincoln (talk about perfect casting!)
Can't wait for the Blu-ray! Liam Neeson should do more movies like this! But on a more somber note, my thoughts and prayers are still with Liam and his family over the passing of his wife, Natasha Richardson (1963-2009).
A really good, entertaining movie. Qui-Gon Jinn was awesome, and im really glad this film found such a large audience. The more marketable PG-13 cut was good, so I have no doubts the original R-rated cut will make it even more great. I'm definitely buying. And why does every spy-related movie that touches on any location outside of the US now require "Bourne" comparisons. When Jason Bourne goes after people abducting his family members, then we'll talk.

I agree this is the most useless thing to release. And then write it of as a 2disc special edition when we all know the 2nd disc is the digital copy. This is a slap in the face for fans that likes special features. what the hell happened to the packed releases where are they!
They are doing the same with Valkyrie. Wich is a movie that really could have had a lot of features on

Honestly, one of the best movies of the year. Decent story, good acting, plenty of action, heart wrenching plot and revenge. A probable buy depending on the releases yet to be announced. Neeson pulls it off perfectly. He's cool, works his angles and kicks butt when needed. It's still in the theaters around here. I don't mind the tag line either. It gets your attention and it's a rather riveting point in the movie. You know it's on when he says it too.
Liam Neeson is a bloody excellent actor, vastly underrated. I'll blindbuy this!
Who would have thought this film would turn out so well and become such a hit at the box office? I never thought Neeson, one of my favorite actors, would be able to lure in the masses in North America... but fortunately I was wrong. It's a very good film and I'll be picking up the BD (can't wait to see the extended cut).
This was such an awesome, kickass movie. One of the best of the year so far. Can't wait to see the much talked about extended cut (if it is indeed the same unrated European version that has been floating around on bootleg for a while now).
Haven't seen this, have been missing on it, even when I love Neeson...would you say this falls under the 'popcorn' genre, or the 'Bond' genre?

What version did you see lol? The UK version was pretty violent.
