Quote: This 30-minute horror/fantasy anthology series follows in the vein of The Twilight Zone. Each week presents another standalone story of horror fantasy, and/or science fiction. Some episodes are gruesome, a few are of a lighter comedic style. Like many such shows, Tales... adapted the work of famous genre authors of the period such as Harlan Ellison, Stephen King, and Clive Barker. Many episodes also featured veteran actors of the 40's and 50's that saw very little work in their later years.

This series was the one I was trying to think of some time ago. ITV showed a horror anthology series late at night (along with Short Story Cinema and Tales from the Crypt) which started with a scene set in some woods with the screen drenched in a dark blue colour.
Hopefully all of the first season will be uncut.

Fun show that sadly had some very noticeable budget issues. Still a favorite of mine. I can't wait to pick this one up!
Caught a few which weren't bad - maybe will wait for the cheapie bin
First BECKER Second FRIDAY THE 13TH now this paramount way to go!!!!!!!!
wow terrific news, bravo to Paramount for getting out those shows I thought would never make it to DVD. First Friday the 13th: The Series and now this.
never liked this show.
always thought it to be pretty lame.
always thought it to be pretty lame.
Yeah, J. A.
I would so buy "Monsters".
My favorite episode was THE WAITING GAME. For whatever reason caused it; WWIII occured. We follow two soliders in bunker who had launched their nukes. They hear noises outside. Eventually one of them goes outside, risking death from radiation to find a voice. He finds a new world and a dark messiah. Love that ending. It takes two codes to open the blast door. Our man who had left has returned, transformed. He enters his code and tries to guess his partner's. He has all the time in the world to figure it out. Episode closed with our living survivor going into a fetal position. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep...
