This was very needed. It was also the film that brought us Tom Cruise, but I'm not sure if thats a good thing anymore. Hes a good actor but one hell of a crazy person in real life. Fans of "Taps" should love this new edition.

I had totally forgotten about this film until I saw the Tom Cruise retrospective clips on the new Mission Impossible SE disc.
This film is originally shot in the 1:1.85 format, also the aspect ratio of the current dvd. It'll probably be this ratio for the future release as well.
Power of the media strikes again. All the man did is jump on a couch (a year ago) and the media replayed it twenty times a day for RATINGS=$$$. Anyway, Tom Cruise makes very smart career choices - "Taps", "The Outsiders" and "Risky Business" just for starters.

Yeah, that's got to be a misprint up above. 1.85:1 is also the aspect ratio that they show this film on the Fox Movie Channel.

I never liked this film, though I thought Cruise was rather good in it.

decent artwork
I just can't believe that is Sean Penn. Man! When was this film made? the 80's or something?
I might purchase this do to the artwork, even though I wasn`t a big fan of the film. Superb job with the art.

Or something.
It was the earlier roles for these three fine actors. It's an excellent exploration of the pressures of military and whatnot. I loved it. The climax is a must see.
