It's been desaturated as well to make the blood look a a colour that I can only describe as anything other than red. If you see some set stills from this scene, it's quite jarring how different the colour scheme is.
Day 1 for me! Preordered on Amazon.
I'm pretty sure a lightened version has never been released, even in theaters. I think they would make a big deal of it if they did re-colour time that last scene.

Ohhhhhh right I knew that. I've only ever seen the dark version.

Happy Birthday to me! This hits the Tuesday before my birthday. I can't wait to have this in my collection as it is one of my favorite films.

My special edition DVD has a Japanese menu. When I exchanged it I got another one with a Japanese menu. I decided it was destiny and gave up.

Felt like I just got that special edition DVD yesterday, but I'll still get this day one. One of my all time favorites. The best theatrical experience I've ever had was watching this at the Paramount Theater.
How is the color timing supposed to be in that last scene?

Count me in for getting this one!
Finally!! Taxi Driver is among my favorite films of all-time, a must own for me!
I know nothing about the color thing but i know marty HATES altering films in any way after they are released in theatres but the color might not count as he sees it.
I'm really looking forwards to this. I would love to see the original colour timing of the last scene, although I'm sure that would probably upset the purists if it replaced the original scene and there wasn't a seamless branching option.
Heard about this the other day. Will probably pick it up as my DVD is cracked.
