Who is approving these T2 covers?
The newer the disc release, the cheaper and nastier the covers become.

Stop bragging Chris.

i hate chris lol just kidding.Ive pre ordered the skull for 67.99 its gone up to 79.99 now so crafty one me
.Chris tell us all about the new special features please and the menus. When will you be posting a review?
Think I'll wait for the Skull to go down before I buy, although if it doesn't, I'm sure I can dig a human one up and make it shiny and metallic, and put a DVD holder underneath, that should work, right?
Added a slightly more comprehensive list of specs. At first glance this does look like a new encode as the contrast is slightly better than the older version. It's not a massive improvement though. For some reason the Germans get 7.1 while we only get 6.1. The menus show a lot of the features that aren't fully detailed in the text. Can't confirm whether it's region B only as PowerDVD crashes when I try and play it (probably because it's an old OEM version that Cyberlink can't be arsed to patch for newer titles, the lazy b*****ds - I don't want PDVD 9 damn you!).
Endoskeleton is so cool but can't afford to buy £79 for it.
I'll stick with the standard edition.

I hope that they do an edition like this for the first movie. When I bought the first one, it was supposed to have a documentary and other features on it but I was sent the regular version instead.

Van Ling (who made the new American disc) says 6.1 is director approved and 7.1 isn't. Apparently Kinowelt made their own track. Kinowelt's HD-DVD is also only DTS-HD HR. Those menus above virtually identical to the German HD-DVD.
This looks the same as the USA version (which also has DTS-HD MA 6.1), except no Digital Copy (no loss). I already have that on pre-order from Play.com (for only £12.99), hopefully it will be steel book too.
Word is the BD will have the Extended SE hidden, presuming this is identical to the USA Lionsgate BD.

Van Ling again says they are but the MGM USA BD due out in May is merely a re-package of the existing (rubbish) BD. Why they're bothering, who knows.

Brad, do you ever read the news? It says quite clearly that the Extended Edition is there, via the usual Easter Egg.

Why is it neither the T1 or T2 releases on both DVD and Bluray feature the proper "Terminator" logo on the packaging? They always go for their own (usually) nasty version. T3 was fine though.
I can't hold it in, sorry.

If you read the HTF forums, you should know that Jim Cameron has been busy with his latest film Avatar for the last few years. He has not had time to approve any of his films for Bluray release.

I hope you have a multi region BD player as Ving has also strongly suggested this may be region locked as it has been handled by two separate companies (US & German) and they don't want to loose money to each other.

Sorry to sound thick, but what is the usual Easter Egg? How does one access the Extended Edition?

You enter the date of 'Judgment Day' in the main menu (in the backwards American format). So highlight the third option in the 'Select Version' menu and key in 082997 to reveal the Extended Edition option.

Good to hear. I tend to skim read as extras rarely interest me.

I do thanks. I much prefer region free but needs must. I bet the UK one turns out to be Region B, so it cannot be avoided.

I'm getting a bit confused. I know there are 3 different versions (the cinema caut, the directors cut and the directors cut with alternate ending). I know all 3 versions are on the new standard dvd, but are all 3 included on the BD?
Yes...
Clearly someone else doesn't read the new too ;-)
p.s - The Theatrical Cut is the Director's Cut. The two Special Edition Cuts are Extended Cuts.

What don't you f**king understand!!!
I think the time has come to upgrade the Momentum 2 disc UE. I can't be bothered with new fangled packaging like the endoskeleton. I will get myself some BD steelbook, mmmmmm lovely steelbook.

Which came first? ;-).
It's Judgement derived from Judge. Doughnuts derive from dough, colour because it's pronounced colour not color, aeroplane from the plane itself not that it happens to fly in the air ;-)..
Not that American versions of the English language bother me, we have much more lazy equivalents in our own dialect. Chillax anyone, chill and relax mean the same thing. What about same difference? How can something be the same and different at the same time?
"It's like amazing", isn't the same thing as "it's amazing". In fact quite the opposite.
Right I'll get off my soapbox :-D.

I don't want a T2 steelbook. I f**king hate steelbooks. They throw my bookcases out of sync. Enough of steelbooks already.
*Twitches* Did he just bad mouth steelbooks?

WOW! I've never come across "anyone" before who actually prefers plastic. How do they throw it out of sync? They're usually the same size.

Steelbooks dent like f**k.
I hate steelbooks - like Chris said, by the time they're delivered, and Royal Mail have thrown them, sat on them, dropped them, frisbee'd them, ran over them in their vans, they are dented to f***!!!
And the print scratches off to. There's a steelbook boycott going on in my gaffe from now on. 'Kin hate them.
