TS beat the ever lovin' snot out of that piece of steaming elephant feces that was "T3".
Maybe its just me, but I friggin loved this movie. Will defintely pick up.
I agree with jmcclane 88.
I can't stand that T3 completely screwed the story up by saying the war is always gonna happen.
I just watch T2 with the alternate ending to have complete closure in my mind.

well the movie did feature a terminator as one of the leads so.
as for someone else's comment about "nuclear winter" in the previous movies. just because the future scenes took place at night doesn't mean daylight didn't exist anymore. they probably just thought it looked cooler at night. its funny seeing people make their own conclusions about something and think they are facts.

you dont even need the alternate ending. based on the theatrical ending, it gives the impression they've stopped judgment day from ever happening by destroying all evidence that could connect and/or lead to it.

Isnt Maximum Movie Mode essentially a glorified Commentary?
Wow, they're really screwing DVD costumers this time. Good thing I'm planning on going Blu soon. Big fan of the Terminator series, and this was no exception (despite some major problems) Where's the cover art?
I will eventually get this...maybe. I, too am a blu ray owner and it's not fair for those who can't dish out the cash for a BR player to not be able to get the same enjoyable experiences as those with BR players. They should have at least put the DC on standard.
J Linc wrote: The fact that they are not offering the director's cut for the DVD release is pretty much guaranteeing many to pirate the Blu-ray version... not cool at all. Not everyone can afford an HDTV and Blu-ray player.
Exactly. Real bad move. I bet it won't sell much.
Funny how many ppl here don't like the movie but the movie was quite a success all over the world except in US. I wonder why ?

Terminator Salvation was fantastic on the level of art design -- the terminators move so well in this film, it puts the earlier films to shame (but that can't be helped, the originals didn't have this level of visual effects quality available to them).
And as far as the story goes, Salvation was a nice mix of Resident Evil Extinction, Mad Max, and the Terminator series. If it had just retreaded the Terminator story of "machine chases after hero" I'd have been bored.
Instead, it was a war story, and a good one -- all the themes of typical war stories are here: heroes crossing enemy lines, questions of loyalties and identity, romance, sacrifice... If Bogart could have been in any Terminator movie, he would have been in Termainator Salvation.

Director's Cut only 3 minutes longer, oh wow!

Every time you see a scene in the future where the other movies are concerned it DOES look like a nuclear winter and gives the impression of a dark, decaying, cold world in ALL 3 movies and even the footage filmed for T2 3-D: Battle Across Time. So you tell me why James Cameron always filmed the future that way smartass.

then it'll probably be sorta like Die Hard 4, just little scenes or lines added that woulda gotten an R rating. though if this sells well, i can see them releasing an actual extended version since there is apparently a longer cut.

the only difference between this movie and the previous 3 is that their future scenes were all at night. what makes them look like nuclear winter?

123 Million box office? this movie cost 200 millions to make!
And for the movie itself was pretty good, i expected the worse and got a decent flick.

Well the fact that you can't have a nuclear war without a nuclear winter which is probably what James Cameron was thinking, lol.

Blu art actually looks pretty cool. will give the Directors Cut a shot. I hope we atleast get reference audio and picture. Going to be interesting seeing Molog with McG... oh god.
After the c**p the WB's pulled on The Dark Knight, Watchmen, Orphan and now Terminator, I've decided they will not be getting any money out of me for a while.
Bare bones DVD? I can't afford a BR player, as some mentioned. They are coming down in price, but not nearly enough for me to WANT one and pay almost $20 extra for a movie sometimes. Looks like I'll be pirating this one, thanks WB!
I really liked this movie and cant wait for it' impending BD release hopefully the UK gets the same two disc set if not it looks like an import which shouldn't be a problem with it being Warner brothers as all there titles have been Rfee hope the directors cut is the lost unrated version that there was talk of.

man..where the hell do you live with prices that crazy? lol these days blu-rays tend to be 3-5 dollars more than the dvd around here. sometimes i've seen 10 but thats usually a case of a collector's edition that comes with a figurine or something but yeah....start shopping in a different city if there's that big a difference in your area.

Minimum Advertised Price. :/
I'm in for the Blu-ray. I hear there's some Moon Bloodgood nudity in the Director's Cut.

Worldwide Total: $371,320,281
Why they didn't choose to advertise that number is puzzling. Usually these ads try to manipulate every number and statistic possible in order for it to make the film seem more important.
And I wanna see the 2 hour 40 minute cut that McG originally prepared. Probably never will though...

Yes, they're serious. Most people are getting blu-ray now. People like you said the same thing about DVD when you were still into VHS.

Actually, according to blu-ray.com, the director's cut will be somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes longer.

I liked this one. I know I'm in the minority but I thought this was a very great movie. The action was fantastic and it sets up perfectly for the next film, if there is one.

It's like everyone saw the name McG and saw the rating of PG-13 and freaked out. It was decent for what it was, and had some fantastic effects and action sequences. The editting was fairly choppy and disjointed in some places and clearly smells of studio interference, but the directing for the most part is pretty good. I'm interested to see if the Director's Cut plays out any better.
To call this worse than Transformers 2 or to suggest that the movie is poor because Wal-Mart advertised a toy that wasn't in the movie is completely ridiculous.
