MGM Home Entertainment has announced a collector's edition of The Apartment which stars Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. This Billy Wilder directed film will be available to own from the 5th February, and should retail at around $19.98. Extra material will include an audio commentary from Bruce Block, Film Producer, UCLA Professor and AFI Member, an “Inside the Apartment” documentary, and a “Tribute to Jack Lemmon”. We've attached our first look at the official package artwork below:

What a fantastic looking cover for an amazing movie. It's about time this movie received a decent release with extras. I'll be pre-ordering this. I hope other Billy Wilder movies get the same treatment

I love this movie!!!! Sucks there isn't a Blu-ray release. I'm not sure if I'll pick it up. I'm quite satisfied with my "Studio Classics" edition. Cool cover though.

Excellent movie, I own the darn original release though. I love this movie and think Shirley MacLaine is about as attractive as ever in it, such a cutie back then. She is much more attractive in the movie than the cover leads you to believe.

I forgot to add that the original reason I bought the movie was to have all of Jack Lemmon’s movies, I think he was an excellent actor, one of kind.

Jack Lemmon was one of kind. They don't make them like this any more and most of the great actors and actresses are sadly gone. Best year for DVDs ever, couldn't care less for Blu-Ray, it's got a long way to go yet.

LOVE 'The Apartment'. LOVE Jack Lemmon. LOVE the fact that the DVD is getting an upgrade, BUT...that red font style looks a lot like the same one used for 'Hot Rod.' Regardless, this'll definitely be one of my future purchases!
