I haven't seen The Arrival in years. Looking forward to revisiting it on Blu-ray!

Half decent film, even if straight to video. The cover work looks a bit choppy though, original is much better.
The new cover art could use some work, but I always liked the movie.

Wasn't straight to video according to IMDb, received a theatrical release in 1996.
I remember seeing it when I was younger but I don't remember anything about it. I'll rent it.

The Arrival was never DTV. It played a major role in theaters. And is actually quite good. Specially the ending which used to creep me out as a kid, where the guy gets up and starts walking as an alien. Pretty disturbing the way it was captured. So getting this on Blu, plus with 7.1 DTS-HD am so there.
The Laser Disc release had a commentary, trailers, featurette and alternate ending. Why don't they carry it over? Not willing to pay for the rights to Pioneer Special Edition?

I believe there was a DTV sequel...

It was DTV in the UK.
Might purchase it.
I saw this at the cinema! so no DTV for this one. However the sequels are lame, this is a pretty enjoyable sci-fi flick.
This was one of my first two DVDs I purchased, though it was a double-feature disc with the c**p sequel. It'd be nice for it to finally have its own disc in my collection. Now all I need is the other "first DVD" updated on Blu-ray: Contact.
